Haven’t seen the presser but Jon Ralph just mentioned Weiters and McKay good to go next week
good news

i must say young was a present surprise today

presented consistently and is a very good second ruck

obviously mckay is an upgrade as a forward but I wonder if theres still a spot for young in the team?

Was an awesome win but Xerri destroyed TDK in the ruck. Was at the game and beat him often. Fortunately our mids had laser focus today.

All round brutality by us though.
Love it.
Not sure I agree, NS

King held his own in the arm wrestle, defined by that forward 50 goal and dominated athletically

Our midfield crushed their, with the exception of Wardlaw

Feel for north fans a bit, their group remind me of us under Bolton a bit.

Ridiculous amount of high picks, patience, patience, patience.. no improvement after 3+ years.
Ha yeh Nah

Can I just give a shout to Cotts.

He has been given the Gryan Miers role with pinpoint delivery inside 50 just a pleasure to watch live.

The most pleasing aspect was how the team came out after half time and ironed out the transition issues that appeared in the 2nd quarter. Was a little disjointed and with a couple of easy misses it gave the Roos a sniff.
But wowee, the Baggers were on song in the 3rd and 4th.
Kudos to the coaching group.

Cottrell has gone from average kick to pretty good kick...
He's improved every aspect of his game, and has been improving year on year since he started.

Struggled after injury late last season but improved again this season.

Yes, North were witches hats by the end of the game. But I think part of that is because they brought a high pressure level at the start of the game and they were gassed in the fourth quarter.

For me, this match was qualitatively better than last week. North are not great, but they brought the heat. We’ve fallen against similar teams before.

Other thoughts:

  • the mystery on why we chose Frankie Evans before Will White will continue for a long time yet
  • kudos to the coaching team for mixing things up in the middle of the ground. Motlop has looked revived in there
  • just one or two decent kicks make a world of difference. Well done Matt Carroll. Elijah will be better for the run too
  • the players and coaches are clearly working on a better gameplan. Why they didn’t do it over summer will remain a mystery to rival Will White’s selection, but better late than never
  • On a less positive note, there are plenty of more slight guys in the league who are wonderful at tackling. Why can’t Ollie Hollands seem to improve in this area?

The first four weeks hurt sufficiently to leave me wary of this side. But we are a confidence team and we are playing with confidence. Let’s see if we can bring it against the Cats next week.
