TDK in the hoops in 2026??
Mmmm... I'll will bet $100 on that happening.
Odds are?? was 33-1 now?? 8-1.
So you're saying we are chance. I asked??
Well then.
GiddyUp!!!
Oh and keep a watch out for an Oscar Allen sighting down the Bellarine coast in the coming month or so.

Why do you say that? I never thought of that 🤔

Contracted through to the end of next season and potentially the idea that no club will stump up anything for him in a trade 🤷‍♀️

Re: TDK potentially residing in Torquay and commuting, he wouldn't be the first player to enjoy a drive to work each day (even footy players)

A few Geelong players who've made the commute in the opposite direction:

  • When Jared Rivers joined us in 2013, he had recently renovated his house in Port Melbourne and opted against moving to Geelong, so he'd commute down the highway to the club
  • He also had a carpool buddy as Jimmy Bartel lived in the same area
  • Mooney is another who lived in Port Melbourne for pretty much the entire time he played for Geelong; the family only moved to Geelong in 2014 which is post career
TDK does not live in Torquay, but spends plenty of time there as his parents have a house there, as does Sam obviously. TDK spends most of his spare time on the surfcoast but so does Cripps for that matter and they normally all surf together with Sam.

Charlie Curnow still on the coast for a fair chunk of his time and also has most of his family living down that way at Bellbrae (where Bailey Smith bought).

Nick Vlaustin built a house in Torquay and also commutes most of the time.

Stengle was stood down from the crows in late 2020, was contracted to the crows for 2021 and played SANFL all year. Delisted at the end of 2021 and played for us in 2022.

On that precedent I see Jamarra playing out his contract in the vfl for a stand alone club in 2026

we still need a big midfielder even with TDK which I doubt happens

Butters and Rowell are the opposite of that. Both are barely 6 foot tall and while they have no issues right now as they're in the prime of the life, it will become a problem as they slow down in their later 20's & early 30's. We will always have to ensure they have a big body player around them for support.

This is why Reid is worth a lot more than those guys. His size won't ever be an issue. He'll carry a team on his back like Cripps has done all the way through his career.

I was always under the impression Rowell was a pretty big boy. Maybe it's just an illusion.

I think having the physical presence of TDK who also taps it down to our players advantage and then gets forward for some big impact goals will go a long way. Tbh thought Knevitt was going pretty good before he got injured.
I'd bring in TDK before Harley, but that's just me.

Rowell is thick. Similar torso to Dangerfield. I always felt Zach Merrett had a larger sized torso to absorb a lot of the punishment but I just think it eventually catches up to smaller athletes.

Butters is quite small. A lot of people would be surprised by his actual size as he certainly does not play like it. He already has his body taped up like a mummy.

Big in the bicept diameter but he's shorter than Clark who is too small apparently

I am staggered that Rowell is shorter than Clark, but you're right.

Other midfielders Clark is taller than: Lachie Neale, Caleb Serong, Zach Merrett, Izak Rankine, Errol Gulden...

Clark isn't putting on mass though which is the killer. He's got a body like he's running a purely cardio program and cardio like he's running a weights only program

Clohesy whilst a tough bugger would also be though of as a smallish (in height) mid.

Clohesy listed at 184cm... Clark at 181cm but still looks very small even compared to Clohesy.

I'm not sure Clark actually is 181cm, but even if he is have a look at those arms, legs and upper body... He is tiny.

You can be small and still be good though... but you need to have some weapons... Sadly he has just about zero.

I still think he could have a servicable career once he turns into a man, but any thought of him being a star has faded (it was a rough draft).

People talk about him needing a tank... It's hard to pump kgs of muscle on a frame whilst also improving endurance at the same time.

I reckon maybe in 3 years he could play as a net positive (negative atm)... but until he has real size on him, he won't do much at AFL level.

With Bruhn out... we really needed Clark or Knevitt to make a big jump, but they haven't, and I'm not surprised by that.

Clark and Clohesy have always looked about the same height. I just think Clohesy is standing up straighter in the photo. It's a moot point anyway. He's not too short, he's too light and needs to be checked by a doctor for asthma

He looks tiny on the field, seriously looks Caleb Daniel or Nick Watson sized. I get he's only had a couple of pre-seasons but I'm quite shocked that he is a comparable height to some of those top line mids.

Take a look at his running style though. He's always hunched over like he's doing maintenance for notre dam.

BORIS332 got killed for mentioning it a few months ago on here, but it does beg the question on professionalism.

That doesn't mean he's not a professional btw, just potentially not as professional as he could be.

Most players have one of the flaws you mention, particularly when they're young...but to have both suggests you're just not built for AFL footy, or there's something else going on.
