Good tough and scrappy win over a team who's supporters are amongst the very worst of the worst on BigFooty.
.

They aren't any worse or more numerous than any clubs worst fans, blues included. Like north though they're the only fans they have so there's no crowd of normal people to hide them.

He kicked his first goal last year. He's definitely going to be a long term member of the side. He's a wiingman like Acres and has the pace and endurance to cause havoc up and down the flanks. Gets back and helps defend.

thanks, i thought he kicked his first goal last year too so was confused by the commentary about kicking his first goal. my brain then forgot last year.

Just to let all the haters know Lewis young had 7 spoils tonight despite playing less than a half in the backline. The guy deserves his spot.
I agree Young was good defending when switched down back but …..
If he is playing I prefer him up forward
A number of times down back:
  • he didn’t know what to do with it
  • and refused to make space to create an outlet - I suspect he didn’t want it

With our injuries - he is doing his job

Probably the wrong thread for it, but there’s just no way you can play TDK and Marshall in the same team; tonight shows they’re both full-time ruckman, you’d end up with the ludicrous situation the Dees found themselves in and have a 7 figure player running around in the VFL.

He’d be a loss for us, but recruiting him will wreck them.

So disappointing that we get no free kicks in ruck contests when TDK is shepherded out of the ruck

TdK and Kreuz need to develop a Plan B to get TDK into more of the ruck contests (not just arriving late)

good to see ciaran byrne still supporting

Probably an unpopular opinion, but i actually thought that Frankie Evans earnt his spot last night. I have ben very critical of him and I didn't want to see him get another game, however credit where credit is due.
Evans is another one we have to get passed to be a top 4 side. Don't let poor list management condition you to accept mediocrity

Evan’s is currently behind 4 injured small forwards that are out injured. Evan’s being last on our sf depth chart isn’t our biggest problem.

Played his role well last night in a game where it was difficult for sf to get possessions

For someone who has a lot to say about mental health Stocker likes to say a lot to opposition players when they make mistakes.

Just shambolic we traded into that draft to get him. He would barely be able to play as a primary midfielder at VFL level.
So he shouldn’t throw chat on the field because he disclosed publicly he’s struggled with his own mental health?

Mm don’t think so.

The way we ostracised Stocker because he was a little different to the mould we had created at the time was indicative of how the club was being led.

What we would give for a couple more antagonists now …

Would prefer high quality footballers over antagonists

We didn't ostracise Stocker because he was a little different.

We ostracised Stocker because he was a total FIGJAM, refused to put the work in that was demanded of him on the track, and then sooked about not getting opportunity that he hadn't earned.

When we did give him the opportunity to play the role that he wanted to play he was gassed within a half of football AND still refused to do the work to change that.

He didn't even play well on Friday. 85% game time in his role and he managed only 8 possessions and was only involved in 1 score involvement. He didn't win his own ball - 6 of his disposals came after he marked the ball. He's still a fringe AFL player at best.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but credit to Walshy last night. I wasn't able to catch the entire game, however what I saw from Walsh was exactly what we need from him. Seemed to be able to burst away and his disposal was much more damaging than it has been. Long may it continue.

Quality over quantity. His kicking into the forward line has changed completely.

2 goals despite only being forward for a half. Good result. Not suited to defense. Good defenders get lots of spoils. Very good defenders get lots of intercept marks. That's where he's at. Down back needs to demand more of himself. Has the ability but not the mentality / confidence.
