It's Doogs. Click on link, copy exact headline into incognito window then search. The first couple lines of the search tell you.

Six weeks apparently.

Why do I struggle to think it didn't originally occur on Friday night...
He's done a hamstring. He wouldnt have even have been considered for the warmup with that kind of injury.

Is it just me or does he seem to have heaps of long term injuries?
He's done his hammy before and its often a recurring injury after the first one. 6 - 8 weeks is a fairly bad one but probably just short of surgery (maybe).

He went into Friday carrying something he picked up against the Dockers. Whether that has then had an impact on his body in terms of the hamstring well ill leave that up to greater minds.

Pretty sure he stayed on the entire game against Carlton too.

That's not what you said. Could a sore abductor have contributed? Perhaps but its a still a long bow to draw.

Out : Howard, Garcia, Boxshall, Collard

In : Wood, Clarke, Jones, Heath

Caminiti back, Heath deep fwd, Phillipou mid

Owens only allowed in the centre square as a mid!!!

I have serious concerns that we are pushing players to play when they aren't fit(Dougal, Steele, Higgins) or when they haven't played competitively in a long period of time(Henry)

There was the joke about Dougal coming off for an 'injury' against the Dockers. It didn't sit great with me. A bit like when there was comment about Membrey and his knee a few years ago.

The days of playing blokes injured doesn't work anymore. The competition is too even that means that you're effectively playing short.

Dougal managed 119 minutes out of 123. How many of that was carrying a hamstring injury that will keep him out for 6-7 weeks?

Caminiti back to defence. It's all we've got.

It's just a question of whether Wood up front is enough or do we try Keeler again or Moose.
Yeah Caminiti has to play back but if they play Keeler ahead Heath, I'm getting the trainee receptionist to microwave my membership card.

It's not ideal when our best tall forward King and our best tall defender Howard are two of our most injury prone players especially when we don't have much in the way of KPP depth to cover for them.

West Coast don't have great KPP stocks now either so we might be able to get away with Sharman, Owens and Wood up forward.

Caminiti will be needed more back in defence now and plays better there anyway, if we need another tall I would give Heath a go.

Or do give Barrett his debut, we always have Caminiti ready if needed.
No team are easybeats but WC would be slightly easier to make a debut against than a few others.

Doogs must not have liked Ross' suggestion that an adductor strain was not a real injury so he went and got himself a proper one. Frustrating

Good to see Higgins not on the injury list. Really only missing King and Howard from best 22 now... unfortunately they happen to be our bookends

Three changes IMO:

Wood for Howard - kicked 4 over there last year. Caminiti back where he belongs

Clark for Garcia - clean, dual sided, great stoppage and clearance work. Hugo is the polar opposite (both strengths and weaknesses), love him but he got sucked in time and again last week, and can he fix the fumbles?

Jones (sub) for Collard. Hopefully Butler gets through VFL

Give Collard a week off as travelling emergency to go home, looks like he could do with a break. Boxshall should play regardless but especially over there

I totally agree, you only had to watch the Lyon post game (Freo) interview to see how seriously he takes some injuries. I am convinced that Lyon puts pressure on certain players to commit to playing injured when really they shouldnt. When will they learn that playing injured players never works and damages their longer term outcomes.

I can understand the want to be competitive every week, but when the club continues to have important players on the injury list something has to change with their apporach.

It looks like Jeremy McGovern has been ruled out with concussion so that helps to even out us losing Howard for this game.

He was running like he'd been riding a horse for 3 days. He wasn't right, we might have sent him on injured.

Politely disagree.

The long term vision HINGES on keeping players like Nas - a player we identified, drafted and who is tracking to be our best draftee in decades and a superstar. He not just “any player”.

Attracting players like TDK is essential for long term vision too. Not sure how you cannot see this.

Don't get me wrong... Keeping Nas is hugely important, so is getting a couple of signatures.

But if it comes to playing Travaglia or Jones.

Even though Jones is going to be more of a "sure thing" performance wise, I'm picking Travaglia with an eye to the next 40 games.

Best of luck to Doogs, but this is a blessing in disguise.

A young guy needs to come in and fill the void.

Wish we’d stop mucking Cama around.

Would love to see Cama go back again and stay back.

Time for Heath/Keeler to go FWD for a couple of weeks and then debut Tauru in the FWD line when his suspension ends
