The only reason Callaghan knocked it back was because of the money, the expectations placed on him he felt was too much to carry it's got nothing to do with the status of our club as GWS are no better placed then us until they win a flag.

If TDK has the ball's he will take up the offer is TDK weighing it up only according to the media in reality he know's what he's doing ask yourself why hasn't he signed at Carlton if he was sure he was staying that theory works both ways.

Battle was staying up until R24 according to the media and supporters, he played the market well.

100% on Finn and TDK

Wrong on Battle

The last paragraph is also an explanation as to why we can't get elite talent in no matter where we draft.

Finish last, mid table, it's all the same. The best talent goes north of the Murray or to dad's old team.
i think we need more of a burn the haystack type mentality when it comes to our issues. we need to keep being aggressive in not accepting norms and speaking up.

we aren't getting a look in and there's far too many advantages being thrown around to other clubs be it by the AFL or through inherited circumstance or purely due to being in an AFL state with one other club.

i think the only way forward is to keep shining a light on the inequities rather than being quiet like we have done so in the past. Geelong are paying players outside the cap... then talk about it, say we will do the same. Players goes pick 1 in the draft for a handful of trash picks... then talk about it when the media spot light is on the draft.

WCE are getting a support package... then talk about it and explain how many flags they've had and how much $$$ they have at their disposal.

All of this.

I don’t agree. Look up the top 15 of the last 15 drafts and tell me pick 8 is consistently worse than pick 3

I haven’t done this myself, so this could be a real chance to dunk on me

When was the last time we got beaten by an easybeat team?
West Coast beat us last in 2021 when they finished (just) above us on the ladder.

North beat us by 2 points in 2020, one of their 3 wins for the year.

We don't really get beaten by the easy beat teams, at least not in the last 5 years. Wouldn't be worried about this game at all.
Bombers last win over saints was in 2022. Saints in 10th with 44 points and bombers 15th with 28 points.

That's a short sighted view in my opinion..

Can't sacrifice the long term vision to appease a couple of players.

If NAS things the port trajectory is better than ours good luck to him.

Same TDK
Politely disagree.

The long term vision HINGES on keeping players like Nas - a player we identified, drafted and who is tracking to be our best draftee in decades and a superstar. He not just “any player”.

Attracting players like TDK is essential for long term vision too. Not sure how you cannot see this.

Feeling this way too.
Even if he has made the decision to come there’s no way he’s announcing it either more than half a season to still play out. The comp is not ready for that yet.

Yeah lets boot a coach 3 rounds before the bye without a replacement in mind based off a single result whilst the contract status of arguably our biggest superstar is still in flux. Do you blokes listen to yourself?
Never let common sense or logic get in the way of an agenda!!

If we blow this game, then Lyon should get the boot.
