Plugger had 9 at 3/4 time and didn't add to his tally. Was heart breaking. First final I'd witnessed us in and I was 22. Sad really. We were putrid in the 70's and 80's.Lockett kicked 9.5
At the other end Brownless kicked 8.3
15.14 to 14.13
Doesn't feel like goalkicking inaccuracy cost us. Perhaps Ablett sending Burke and Grant into next week (Grant was AA in 1991) had some effect.
In other words he’s the goat of ITKIf Tony74 is saying it is happening, it is happening. He is the best ITK we have now. You can take it to the bank!

Is that the same bank I normally use to store images of beautiful scantily clad woman? If Tony74 is saying it is happening, it is happening. He is the best ITK we have now. You can take it to the bank!

I couldn’t agree more. 100% correct.I don't disagree with any of that and am not mad at NWM or likely to be.
But if he leaves, the system will work against us getting fair value. The Crows and Power can't trade a player back against their will. Neither have a draft pick this year commensurate with NWM's on field value, and any future pick would likely be lower due to NWM's presence at that club. All the leverage is with the parties not named St Kilda if NWM decides to leave. We would be forced to take unders and go backwards as a consequence.
It is why we must continue to be loud and public about the structural issues with the system, because they are unarguably a contributing factor to our lack of success.
Pretty short and sharp from Tony. "Nas and Ro will stay"
Wish he had have said Nas has signed, or Nas and Ro ARE staying.
We'll wait and see I suppose. Still not convinced.
I like clarityOnly way Nas is staying is if he signs. I think you are over analysing.

What about the system would you change here?I don't disagree with any of that and am not mad at NWM or likely to be.

For those that knew Plugger, it was that or most likely retirement. He'd very much had enough of the circus.I'm not even going to get start on losing Tony Lockett.
We literally lost the greatest AFL goalkicker of all time.
We got a few draft picks, didn't win a premiership because of the trade. Didn't really go anywhere because of it, just lost an icon of the game.
Enough is Enough.
100%, what ever happened to that Jaxons bloke? It's the closest thing you'll get to an announcement that Nas has actually signed.
Well that is certainly.... a take. He’ll get paid plenty if he stays at Carlton. If he comes to st Kilda, it’s because he wants to play for st Kilda.
No one is saying the money isn’t a factor, but to say it’s the only factor is just stupid rhetoric. All you need to ask yourself is:
If the money was the EXACT same at both clubs. Would he be leaving?
The answer is no.
There is a substantial difference in guaranteed money and it’s big enough to make this move happen.
These guys have limited careers. It’s absolutely a risk to turn down the rumoured money on offer.
For clarity:I like clarity![]()
As legit as it gets.
Always had a strong inkling that was Bains feeding his ego.100%, what ever happened to that Jaxons bloke?
I just don't think we can offer that much more money than Geelong and the Dogs for it to be a significant enough point of difference. Both teams, particularly Geelong offer a much more realistic chance at immediate success than us and he's got the childhood support connection to the Dogs. I'd love to have him but I think we'd be a distant third in line at best.If we throw stupid money at him, he may consider. Cats cant just get everybody, and are the Dogs really that much different to us?
Yes they have a better list, but they continue to waste it, they also play in front of crap crowds.
If he wants the big club vibe, then his options are Pies, Carlton, Richmond, Essendon or Hawks. Carlton and Bombers are cooked. Richmond will take another 3+ years, and Pies wont be able to pay heaps, and have SFA draft capital.
I wouldn't put us as a front runner but if we lose NAS, and throw 1.5m a year at him surely he considers that.
I think we keep NAS anyway, but we are not NO chance of getting Butters.
I am not winding anybody up. It takes half a million dollars a year for 7 years for us to get him.
Try offering 1.3 compared to Carltons 1.2 and see if it works for you.
Absolutely hilarious to say well he supported the Saints and Riewoldt is back like he is a 12 y.o fanboi.
He is coming for no other reason but the huge overpay.
And this is no reflection on TDK, Carlton or the Saints.
TDK, would be foolish to turn down life changing money considering he could do a career finishing injury at any time.
Carlton, basically can't afford to match, and Swan is looking to salary dump someone like Walsh as they have stuffed their SC.
Saints, as has been pointed out before, because of the constraints of the AFL, not attracting big stars etc, has to offer outrageous money to a very good but not great ruckman.
Make no mistake, TDK is more than required to play to his absolute best. And he will, he is a professional footballer, you take the big $$$, you perform.
I also expect he will settle into a very good football environment at the Saints and will en up loving the place. The Saints have improved off field dramatically.
But to convince yourself he will come to the Saints for reasons other than the money is a bit laughable to be frank.
We tried two years ago when he was a reserve player for Carlton and he wasn't interested.
On a Tuesday? This week is about Sincs. We'll hear good news about Nas next week.
It was in reference to this smooth brain take:Well that is certainly.... a take.
TDK is only coming for money. Doesn't want to play for us the jumper, the club or the fans.
Looks to me like they expected one and got both, now they’re picking their best players not the best team. Sooner rather than later someone is going to be very disappointed and playing at Box Hill. They seemed to be going for a backline of intercept defenders only. Unusual model.
