Why is everyone so keen to move on from Backline Banners? Had a spoil in the first quarter that saved a certain goal along with multiple acts of desperation elsewhere. Sure, some of his disposals did put his teammates under heaps of pressure, but it's not like Walker isn't prone to mistakes as well. I'd leave Banfield where he is and bring Walker in next week against the Hawks where we'll need as many bodies as possible to contain their army of smalls..
Davies is hardly WAFL standardYeah on second thoughts bringing back all 3 of Pearce ,switta and Walker is prob too much of ask on them.
Pearce I’d be most reluctant to gamble with for obvious reasons
Probably ditto switta too
And In an ideal world you prob give Walker another run at peel but from all reports his running out of the game was strong and we really do need someone to lock down on papsmear.
In which case
Walker in - banfield out
Fyfe out banfield to sub
And whilst Omac was largely ineffectual he’s was no more a liability than drapers been , plus he’s hardly had a decent crack at it this year with selection
That’s Said more than happy if they decide to give Davies a start

Agree. That first quarter he was running hot. That one you mentioned and contested possession on the wing. Sure that one critical error in the middle where they fast transitioned but it was a ball up.
I mean noone comments on the brayshaw kick out the back to banners that went out of bounds and gave them a shot on goal
Think his role in the backline is more defensive ATM.but it might mean it allows others like Clark to be more attacking and allows them keep the def structure
I'd want Walker back, especially at the SCG.I thought Banners was good but he is playing Walker's role at the moment, and Walker is the best in the business at that role. So if Walker's back then you gotta find somewhere else for Banners to play.
Surprised Tracey ended up with a fine, I thought he was the victim. Maybe I am thinking of a different incident.Voss cleared to play
Probably the brilliant run down tackle he did. It sort of dumped him into the into the ground a bitSurprised Tracey ended up with a fine, I thought he was the victim. Maybe I am thinking of a different incident.
The fact that we’ve been told about Fyfe’s test results and nothing about Treacy makes me think that he is ok after that knee to his ribs.I know he played the game out, but gee I will be really surprised if there is not at least rib damage for Cyclone. Hopefully he can play next week but the medicos can be conservative, especially if there is any post game bleeding or swelling around that lower ribcage area. Long flight to Sydney not ideal if there is severe bruising etc. Especially if Voss gets a week, losing Treacy as well would be hard to overcome.
Also assume Fyfe is out with the calf issue.
Given the long flight, forecast rain during the week on top of the already bloody shocking state of the SCG ground, it would be an ideal game for an Aish, Sharp or (if they weren't hurt) JOM/Brodie to come in. I wouldn't risk Walker or Pearce in the conditions, rather leave OMac in and give Walker a further WAFL run.
Very smart idea. So AFL won’t do it.Interesting spec on Reddit, they may just swap the two derbies, whether an extra week would help the scg turf I don’t know
Very smart idea until you actually scratch the surface and look at the logistics.Very smart idea. So AFL won’t do it.
Jackson - Grundy
Darcy - McLean
McLean is the stronger of the two. Grundy nimble and small, Jackson will own him.
Moving Banfield out of defence but leaving him in the side is the best outcome imo.Who comes out for Walker?
Was bloody impressed with some of Banfield's efforts in defense. He saved a couple of goals for sure. Also, it would be really hard to drop Worner. The guy does things running back with the flight that I don't think Walker would do (or many other players in general). Chappy? Maybe. Cox? Unlikely. I reckon Omac will come out but that will be for Pearce.
Walker in for Fyfe, Banners to SubMoving Banfield out of defence but leaving him in the side is the best outcome imo.
That'd be either to the forward line if we choose to drop someone or to the sub role.
Think Banfield has shown he can play just about everywhere that's realistic for a mid sized at this point. Unfortunately he's not quite consistent enough to be considered any more than an okay depth player.Walker in for Fyfe, Banners to Sub
Switta if he is available, probably for Dudley
I'd give Pearce another week with that horrible surface at the SCG.
If Walker is ready to go then Banfield comes out. No need to over complicate things. Walker has a very specific skillset which no one else on the team has. If we need him to come in, then the part time defender will be the one to make way.Who comes out for Walker?

Hello, do you think Giants Stadium is an option?Move the game to the MCG![]()
Best in the business is a bit of a stretch, compared to players at the Pies, Lions, Crows, etc.I thought Banners was good but he is playing Walker's role at the moment, and Walker is the best in the business at that role. So if Walker's back then you gotta find somewhere else for Banners to play.
Would prefer Narkle to Aish, he has a bit more x factor.Out: Fyfe
In: aish
Sub:aish
It’s Sydney. There’s Energie and Allianz stadium right next to each other. Choose one, and play.Very smart idea until you actually scratch the surface and look at the logistics.
You do these things when you're forced to, not when there's some doubts about a ground when there's a local back up you could go to if you had to.
Or Allianz. We all know it’ll stay at SCG.Hello, do you think Giants Stadium is an option?
Swans would probably just forfeit rather than lower themselves to playing there.
