I'm more concerned about the quote from Cox in that article

"It was obviously a disappointing result, but it wasn't a disappointing performance. When we play our best footy it's good enough for any team in the comp," he said.

No Dean. If that was our best footy it wasn't good enough for any team in the comp. We lost. It was very much a disappointing result. We lost.

Cox talks as if he inherited a team that was repeatedly beaten by 60 points. Sure, we were beaten by that number in the GF, but we also finished strong minor premiers. By any concrete measure we've slid backward this year. Cox may not be the sole reason but he cannot keep assuring the team we're improving if we are not winning games.

I don't like it when Cox frames a losing game as good enough. In footy, winning is the measure of success. Losing is losing. I'd prefer he call a spade a spade or "almost winning" could become the hallmark of the Swans.

I thought we were pretty good against the dogs. They kicked some freakish goals.

Yep and we missed some sitters. I also believe if McCartin had played it would have gone a long way towards winning that game.

Exactly my point. We weren't good enough to win.

Winning has to be our goal, not putting up a good contest or generating a ton of chances. If I wanted to follow a team that thinks losing is good enough there are plenty of pre-loved Blues jumpers on eBay.

This game against Fremantle will prove our credentials.

I thought I would go back and watch the 3rd quarter of the Doggies game again on Kayo tonight. Not to be. Not there. All of the other games were though. Nice to see that Kayo are up to their usual standards

Absolutely. Let's hope we play well enough and win. If we play well but lose by spraying set shots and failing to capitalise on opportunities we can't then claim we played well enough.

Like I said, what most of the observant posters on here say about us plus quite a bit about Freo, poor coaching and midfield setup. Likes the new kid. Also quality writing unlike most journalists.
