I mentioned 3 players who re-signed with their clubs in Qld. The sentence which followed is called hyperbole friend. It is often used on the old BigFooty when, for example, you don't sit within the walls of St Kilda and know all of who they offer these deals to or the details, but by virtue of the fact that no one of note ever goes to the Saints and they're trying desperately to spend the cap...its a safe assumption it is happening.

Alternatively, if you want to claim that the Saints have been successful in luring players to the club or that they never try to recruit players via draft or FA, I would love to hear your thoughts!

A clear unwillingness to acknowledge this simple fact suggests any debate will continue to go around in circles.

You could even use an extreme example and say, as a QLD side, would you rather have 100% QLD’ers on your list, or 100% WA’ians (assuming an equally talented spread of players).

The answer is painfully obvious - to most. To not comprehend that the latter case constitutes a major disadvantage is nothing short of hilarious.

Why does a team need to be made up of majority locals this kind of defeats the purpose of a national competition as long as you have access to sufficient talent Australia wide , the afl is way to soft on it’s players look at other major sports the nrl a decent percentage of the Queensland origin team play for clubs not in Queensland. In America nba and nfl players are spread everywhere very few play at home town clubs

Removing the outside of top 40 for NGA draft picks will be hugely beneficial to Melbourne / SA / WA clubs. Can already see the effect with the amount of top end NGA talent coming out of SA for 26/27 draft.

we've been through this so many times, would u do the same job in a different state for the same pay? the talent pool needs to be spread and the academies are helping it, you mention the NBA and nfl, show me where there is 10 teams in 1 city and the majority of the talent coming out of 1 city, not to mention the pay difference, completely irrelevant comparison

You may want to check the allowances Melb Storm got especially initially. Plus there was the whole salary cap thing where they were stripped of premierships..sure that can work I guess lol. Yes players are given too much power that has zero to do with this and St Kilda and their charade.

you have no idea what you are talking about, you aren't understanding its a different system, NRL has junior pathways basically they are academies! the melbourne storm have an academy which is also on the Sunshine Coast!

The NRL have catchment area's similar to the how the afl had zones, it has been talked about for awhile they will change to a draft system
