Some Luxuary being 6k

Rozee to Whirfield
Bergman to Sinclair

Annoying because Bergman should eat up the mid minutes, but doesn’t rack it so smart play. Rather dump Kennedy now with 2 forwards out he might sit down there again. Gonna lose 100k but a keeper?

Sydney bringing in Ladhams is annoying for those wanting to bring Grundy in.

Not really

Ladhams played in Rds 10, 11 and 12 and Grundy still went 111, 134 and 124 against TDK, Gawn and ROB in those rounds.

Only real worry is if Sydney are cruising they might rest him but still worth the trade in (and VC) imo

Did look at Rankine but 1 ton in his last 9 didn't excite me

Have got him as a trade in in that other game where the scoring seems to suit him more
Well ive got 840 to play with so its likely either Rankine or Daniel, both of whom I used to own, neither of which excite me all that much.

You have 907k, who are you picking?

I like Noble and Neale. Pickett and Warner are possibilities. Newcombe???
Neale shouldn't get tagged, so he could go big.

I don't own him, so this is just community service but, those with Bailey Dale - note that Coffield has been dropped.
Noticible drop off since he was in for rounds 15-18 as someone else pinching a few marks and kicks. Especially the Richmond match where people grabbed Dale for the huge score that never came.

Last 4 weeks marks for Dale.
R15.Rich = 7
R16.Syd = 5
R17.Nth = 2
R18.Adel = 1

Last 4 weeks for Coffield
R15.Rich = 10
R16.Syd = 5
R17.Nth = 5
R18.Adel = 7

Now to spend all of today on the week long ruck/fwd or fwd/fwd trade in scenarios.
Paying over $1.1m for Grundy and English is likely to be an overspend. Gawn slightly cheaper, or move Jackson and grab two 800-900k fwds.

I’ve gone slightly off the rails with my trades
Aim to get Gawn next week with Jackson back forward
Xerri/Martin > Whitfield/Miers
Taking a hit with Tauru onfield.

Thoughts on Xerri/Graham out for either, I'm thinking Shanahan can net 70 and a decent cash increase with Grundy/Meek going at 120 each, with macrae/parker going for a combined 185

Grundy/Shanahan ~300k
Meek/Shanahan ~500k
Macrae/Parker ~35k (swing Jackson to ruck)

As some have mentioned, with 2 "keepers" going out, you ideally want to trade 2 back in, but,
Trade scenario 1&2 have risk, so if you're in a position where risk may aide your enjoyment of the game before it winds up for another year, go for it. Hail Mary's /YOLO's are fun.

You've just gotta have a plan to upgrade Shanahan asap. (Could kick 5 tomorrow, then score much less in the Derby)
There seems to be plenty of teams playing a non McCarthy rookie this week as they need cover.
2 I've seen onfield (Johnson & Rowston) scored very low, so it may not be so risky this week.

Grundy just stinks of EVERY top priced player I've brought in this year. Pay up, them have them drop. He's likely the exception to the rule. Could be a fun week to own him.

Meek could he last year's Xerri in terms of finishing the year strongly.
Some have mentioned his run, but...
He's just had
English
ROB
Xerri
Marshall
Darcy/Jackson
Over the last 5 weeks, with an L5 of 115.
That's huge considering the opposition.

I'd say either split your risk and go Grundy/Shanahan +$300k
Or the two fwds.

$500k is probably too much to leave on the bench this week to only have to use it on Shanahan to a fwd next week. You've gotta have a plan.

I'm going with Xerri out, Jackson to ruck and Macrae + Petracca in.
Could be either + Parker against his old side but my two ins seem to have a better run.

I actually offloaded Petracca at his bye because the Dees are done for the year and he wasn't looking as interested. Oliver's 200th this week so they've a bit more to play for.
AFL.com have tipped the blues in the weekly preview though. Dees should win.
Maybe Gawn also hits a big score for Clarry.

I've decided to take on Grundy this week. I think there's more upside in him underperforming (scoring less than his priced at - 118) than downside if he goes big. Mainly because I don't have any confidence in the cheap forwards.

Ladhams being named probably doesn't change much but it gives me a little more confidence to fade Grundy. If Swans dominate, maybe he cops an in game rest? Really just trying to convince myself here haha.

If he drops a 120, I'll take the Whit VC and cop the 10 point loss.

Worst case he goes 130+, I roll the dice with Dawson C, then pay up next week to bring him in for his run home.

Final trades:

Martin > Dunkley
Xerri > Petracca

Fantastic write up thanks for your insights,

One of the upsides I see with leaving 500k in the bank is that Meek and Shanahan should make around ~100 combined given their Break evens, not that it matters much for meek (unless I have to trade him later), so Shanahan should be worth 460 with the extra 500 means he can become Macrae/Kennedy next week, Whilst parker has been scoring well of late, Nth will struggle for supply in the next few weeks with Xerri out.

I'm sure Grundy will be consistent and go huge, but bringing in Ladhams may mean more rests, who knows

I have McCarthy covering Rozee (I decided to hold even with the 140 BE) I could have traded him out but that meant I would have Kako covering fwd., glad I didn't

Decisions decisions hey hmmm I'll likely get it wrong no matter what I do!

If I get English instead of Grundy, I can afford Warner / Parker instead of having to settle for Curtin. Only thing is English would be my 5th dogs player which is probably not ideal, but I reckon I might go that way. Surely Grundy won't outscore English that much from here on?
