I don't think this is a hot takeThe Fall Guy was good… straddled the action comedy line quite well. But not enough people went to see it.
I agree, I was responding to the posts that there’s been no good action comedies in recent times.I don't think this is a hot take
But maybe it's a movie more for our generation
What have you watched recently?Oh look. Let's assemble a diverse crew of people and have a bunch of twists

I do think Hollywood are trying a little too hard to force him to be a leading man.Glenn Powell is about as appealing as dentist visits!
My partner disagrees haha, reckons he's a cheese merchant.Glenn Powell is for the girlies
CHEESE MERCHANT?! WHATMy partner disagrees haha, reckons he's a cheese merchant.
Although she softened during Twisters

I wouldnt go QUITE that far but I never got the Seinfeld love. Its just another sitcom IMO.Have only just stumbled upon this thread... And I'm here for it.
Dunno if this has been covered before (or perhaps I am genuinely the only person who thinks it).
Seinfeld is one of the most appalling and un-funny TV shows ever made. I would get more of a laugh trying to give myself a circumcision.
It's not supposed to be funny in a literal sense. It's dry humour, and it's satirical. What I love about Seinfeld and I didn't always feel this way in my younger years is that some of the running gags that an entire episode is based on is exactly what we've thought at some point in time or another.Have only just stumbled upon this thread... So can you give me a top 5 of heist movies that aren't meta, or contrived pieces of garbage? Rick and Morty did an episode on this.I actually reckon your right in terms of a bad heist movie being truly shit.
Good ones though, as good as anything.
I mean you can argue that basically every genre follows some form of bland predictability, the whole "universal story" model etc. How far you personally think every genre movie ever derives from the basic beats is subjective. So can you give me a top 5 of heist movies that aren't meta, or contrived pieces of garbage? I feel like most heist movies just follow a bland predictable script.
Assemble a crew
Do bad shit
Romantic interest
Get crossed
overcome getting crossed
Win
Yeh so this is gonna be a pointless exercise. Heat is as good a technical film making exercise as there is. Not liking it is a hot take as it is.I just asked AI and it suggested Heat, (Seen the first 30 minutes and got bored)
Inside Man, really good movie but not the heists I'm referring to
Fish Called Wanda Never seen
Hell or high water haven't seen.
I'm more referring to the Oceans bullshit.
You would have to pay me a lot of money to go and watch Jerry Seinfeld's standup. I wouldn't even take a free ticket.I wouldnt go QUITE that far but I never got the Seinfeld love. Its just another sitcom IMO.
I love satire as much as anyone, but the show was just absolute poo. I think they've got it spot on, it's a show about nothing... And nothing aint funny. It's not supposed to be funny in a literal sense. It's dry humour, and it's satirical.
