I saw the facebook post of them getting off the bus in the morning and went "oh ho". Could've treated it as a true away game with overnight trip away as a group etc.. it might have changed the vibe a bit more. Who knows.

wasn't playing I think. Also they just kicked the lights out in 2nd and 3rd quarter. Our shoulders dropped at that point and it was too hard from there on.

Good to do a bit more home work for midfield matchups in future. If things are not working I'd like to put Berry in much earlier, send WAshcroft to wing and see if he can give us something different in the middle.

As for the seniors…

No more two rucks. As sad as it is to say, Don’t want Oscar in the team, and I don’t want Fort playing forward.

We no longer have an inside, ball winning bull. Neale and Ashcroft much prefer being the first receiver, or playing outside, where they can run.

Rayner is the most willing player we have, who’ll put his head over the ball.

2 hrs down and 2 hrs back in horrible traffic and rain. I feel tired dejected and let down. That is the worst loss in this decade as much as I can remember. We were smashed in the Ruck and midfield. Aside from that we were out enthused.Clugga and Lachie tried their guts out but their midfield compatriots were mostly spectators. Bez and Starc and Logan and Zorks had shockers.i have committed to never set foot in that ground again. I trust all those who were second to the ball commit to turn it around next week

We were in better form last year by that stage and even though we don't believe it probably more motivated.

No doubt. But he was quite good last week and I was hopeful of him coming back into form.

No option but to put today in the Mulligan basket and put all of our energies into rolling the Pies.

Yeah for some reason it felt like we were so much worse off last year. Maybe it's because they're earned more faith after what they achieved last year. We're a weaker side without Daniher, Payne and Answerth that's for sure

Well on the brightside North and Port adelaide recieved hidings as well so we maybe we can escape the media spotlight this week

It’s sad, but Oscar is being soundly beaten by the bigger rucks in the comp right now and it’s impacting our midfield game to some extent. Fort has been solid, but his output is a known quantity.

I’d certainly give Smith an opportunity now to see how he adjusts to the level. Sometimes that’s all it takes and there’s plenty of examples where the second ruck has come in, and never gone out again (Grundy over Jolly, O’Brien over Jacobs, Meek over Reeves, Gawn over Jamar even).

Moyle is a good AFL ruckman in waiting, so the sort of numbers Smith put up against him indicate he’s ready for another shot (admittedly without having seen the game). The complexity is no doubt Oscar being that heart and soul type player - leaving him out isn’t really Fagan’s style. Going to be interesting to see how we go in over the next few weeks.
