He’s turning 24 not 21 and has played 20 games.

Guys who only play when you have a long injury list don’t usually come with his price tag. It’s the usual story everyone in front of him is team of the century material and he’s going to break out and be a superstar.

You know what you usually find in other people’s trash ?, yep trash. If we were talking a third rounder and 3 x $500k I wouldn’t bat an eyelid, knock yourselves out give him an opportunity. You’d be surprised who we might actually be able to get for a second rounder and near enough to $900k.

Just the money alone has to be bloody insulting to quite a few currently on our list and playing every week. Do you think we’re offering that sort of money to windy and hall ?.
He has been stuck behind Sam Taylor Harry Himmelberg and Jack Buckley.

It’s hardly an indication he isn’t good. He has played 8 consecutive games in their absences + they want to retain him.

They don't. They make things up. Usually report what the max contract is, which usually includes incentives, games played, Best and Fairest, etc. Someone here recently said, get the number and take off 20%.
If that’s true, TDK is only $1.36m a year!! 🥳

Thought the Viking was pretty impressive playing forward in the second half on Sunday.

He looked very natural and was incredibly team oriented

Yes looks good, but like Trav needs to improve his ball use. - Skill wise and decision wise.
Early days yet I know with both.

Ditto Wilson. Owens in his set-shots and Windy in his general play (though he is improving).

It is a pity that players like Hall who are very good with their ball use are so rare in our list. Reid at Freo is firing for this very reason.

One of the journalists in their trade wraps mentioned that the Suns Coach is NOT a big wrap for Ben King. Would we be interested in getting him as a FA next year. He could be a defender against those forwards over 200cms or have a very tall forward line.

Nail on the head with Owens. Do we still have David Wheadon working with the players on set shots. Owen's just doesn't seem to be getting any better at this part of the game which has hurt us in the last month

Collingwood?

This is a more realistic figure 1.4 prior to insentives
The media reports 'up to' 1.7 million a year, instantly gets translated as 1.7 million a year.
Incentives, bonuses for games won, b and f place and other KRA's would be part of the contract

Get him as a FA and play him as Max King every second game.

Lets be real there is no way Carlton would be keen to off load Walsh if they thought his body was sound and he could get back to playing at his best again. It just has enormous flashing lights 'buyers beware' for me.

I would not be against off loading Collard if WCE are interested, but considering Ryan after everything else the club has done would be counter productive. We took on Macrae last year and although he has been good, I think by the end of his 3 year contract the club will be regretting again looking for the quick fix. Ryan would be the same you will get a couple of decent games out of him and then be again looking for a replacement.

If what we read is true we are open to moving on Rowan Marshall and/or Jack Steele for the exact same reasons WCE would be offloading Ryan.

Please no more quick fixes Saints!

He's not coming to us as a Defender.

Hypothetically, if the cost was right and salary space was there then, I’d be lying if I said I never left the unite the king twins train. My take has always been you want points of difference to other sides in the comp, and having both of them in the forward line is certainly that, and they play differently styles also / grew up playing together.

I’m a romantic what can I say; they’re both saints fans growing up and we need more representation up forward. Not to mention they’d be a real vibe around the club / marketing.

Again, all hypothetical and romantically speaking, don’t shout me down, and we’ll be perfectly fine without Bing but if the stars ever aligned that’s the sort of folklore list that can take you to special places.

Its fine if we just front load it anyway isnt it.

Doesnt count when you do that.

I do seriously hope were drilling that offer down and not up.
If he is earning $1.7m a season with us, I’d rather take the suggestion that we have a very very good footballer alongside Nas.

West coast also applying for Draft assistance according to Greg Swann
Said this month's back

Theyre not coming with a cup in hand... they've pulled up the wheel barrow and are going to ask for it to be filled.

I doubt anyone is suggesting we shouldnt pay the man, I also completely get why his contract was what is was but claiming a salary of $150k (at best) for a professional footballer is decent is a wild take to me.

True but I guarantee he wasn't on $150k a year before he was drafted.

Hard pass for me.

Surgery on both hammies in 2023/24.

Behind Higgins in almost every metric, including career games, but 3 years older.

Not defensively strong, which a key aspect of what we'd be looking for to replace Butler

Bit of off-field stuff over the journey.

WC would be looking for draft capital, they wouldn't be throwing him away for a token 4th rounder or anything.

Persevere with Collard, or find a better option who suits the age demographic if Collard wants out.
He's been getting run through the midfield this year.

If you want to be competitive tomorrow he's exactly what we need. We've lacked any kind of marking ability inside 50.

This helps address that.

A forward that has kicked over 30 goals ZERO times.

Has kicked 30 once, outside of that he has only kicked 20 or more 3 times.

Played over 20 games in a season only once.

Second best season is 18.

Career averages of
11 disposals
3 marks
2 tackles

Career high for tackles in a game is 6 - Hardly a Ross prototype up forward
Career high for dispoals is 21
Career high for goals is 4

Just a real average footballer.

If he didn't occasionaly sit on heads or kick goal of the year contenders he would be out of the league.
Have you actually watched him or are you just going off the stats?
