A bit like Kent’s call earlier. I’m happy for us to move on whomever at whatever the return.

Our own somewhat recent history shows that sometimes losing important players can have a big upside.

We lost Scully who had value as a recently minted number one pick and that became Hogan.

We lost Frawley to free agency and got Brayshaw who was an important player in our premiership.

We traded Hogan for Steven May and Tom Sparrow - who were good in our flag.

We traded Watts who had finally come good for what seemed unders and recruited Fritsch.

We traded Frost for a nothing pick later packaged as the manoeuvring to secure Pickett. Further, we opened up spots in the 22 for Tomlinson and later Petty who helped our back 6 cohesion in 2021.

I’d have rather not lost Luke Jackson but Caleb Windsor and Jeffo (lol) could easily turn out to be as valuable.

These things are never perfect but tend to give a nice high level view of our list demographic

Saw this - Only thing that would make it more useful would be if it showed the accumulated points rather than a 100% percentage. ie - Our total player rating number would be a lot less than Collingwood I imagine, so that "Prime Timers" number would be very different I reckon. Highlight our weaknesses compared to the good teams as opposed to just reference against ourselves.

Yeah that's big limitation on this. It's looking at all teams on a flat plane. Even though our demographics are similar to teams like the Cats and Giants you'd still be taking their lists over ours right now.

Geelong have this uncanny knack of developing players and targeting recruits who immediately play like studs for them.

When we annihilated them in that prelim I remember thinking they’re going nowhere with scrubs like Z Guthrie, Close and Atkins. Fast forward 12-24 months and they’re outstanding role players. Bailey Smith has been sensational for them.

Meanwhile Brisbane looking to bring in Oscar Allen and Sam Draper while picking up another top academy kid. Gulf just gets bigger every year.

Wish we went that hard after our flag to remain up top.
We should be the team chasing sDraper.
He can and does take contested marks, up forward, and around the ground. At 205cms tall he goes alright. That is why he is in such deemand.

The same goes for Silvagni.

Both of them FREE Agents.! At a time when we do NOT have any First-Rnd picks... to bring in new talent.
.........................

Tis time to trade out... to bring in some early-ish picks for this draft.

Oli, Fritta, Lever, Salem, get what we can. just do it.!

We’ll have to replenish somewhat with key position stock. Possibly losing Lever Tmac Fullarton Hore. May probably only one year left. And some question marks on the likes of Jefferson Kentfield and Adams. We probably need some experienced bodies around.
Kentfield and Adams have looked 'OK', recently.

Both have skill-sets we need.

Kentfield has looked accomplished in the air, overhead, and his forward craft appears good, strong.
Adams has a nice turn of foot-speed... and has looked pretty good in recent games.

Both are keepers. Same with Culley, keeper.

time to go... some smalls and some talls...

Fullerton, seeya. Marty Hore.
Billings, great at VFL level... and is 30Yrs of age. McAdam, contracted til 2026, pay him out.!

And some hard dee-cisions will need to be made. Deal or No deal.!

If anyone offers a 1st rounder for Lever take it and run.
I can see Lever being able to make a big difference to stiffen up the Bummers back-line woes.
With McKay down there, he needs someone with balls to help direct him.

The same with the Doggies.
They're desperate for some experienced reliability down back... they have enough fleet-footed runners to make it work with Jake down back.

Jake could end up being a premiership defender, at two clubs in his career... over the next 4 Yrs.

If we can get a 2nd we take it and run. Way over rated.

Doesn’t take the game on like Hibberd did, gets smashed by players like Rankine, can’t play midfield and we have AMW in waiting ready to step up.
Hibberd and his dashing play, and hard-nosed defending, has been a huge loss to us, imv.

Both he and Melk were decisions of great vision, or luck.?

Basically we should trade the following:

Lever and May for Sam Darcy and Ed Richards

Petracca for Wilkie and Wanganeen-Milera

Petty for Dawson and Thilthorpe

McVee and JVR for Harley Reid

Oliver for Noah Anderson

Langdon, Sparrow, Spargo and Tom McDonald for Sam Taylor and Connor Idun

Trade Viney and Salem to Essendon for our first rounder back

on trade our first rounder + admin for Geelong’s

2026 best 22

B: Wilkie - Taylor - Idun

HB: Wanganeen-Milera - Turner - Rivers

C: Dawson - Langford - Richards

HF: Chandler - Thilthorpe - Pickett

F: Melksham - Darcy - Fritsch

R: Gawn - Reid - Anderson

I: Windsor - Bowey - Lindsay - Howes - Mentha

Coach: C Scott
just one thing, JK. I'm allergic to hReid.

But we should go all out for TdK, offer him the world... or 2M a year, whichever comes first... Just do it, you know it makes sense.

How's TdK fitting in alongside mGawn AND sDraper?

We always love to overcorrect.

I can see us stock piling picks and then bringing in a fresh wave of silky good kicks / outside runners like we did with Watts, Scully, Gysberts, Morton, Toumpas, Blease ect. Just in time for game to go back to an inside contested game again no doubt.

Then we can grab the next iteration of Crouch and Magnus to fill the void.

Then we can stock pile picks again and overcorrect once more by grabbing the next wave of Viney, Oliver, Trac, Sparrow ect (then grab the next Billings, Hunter and Sharp to fill the outside void) when we realise it’s gone outside again. and rinse and repeat for 100 years.
If we trade out Oli and Lever, Fritta... we can get in future 1st Rnd picks for them, some clubs might bite on betting in the futures market.

The competition up the top 4 teams is hotting-up... and each want to get a leg over the others. There Is a market for talented depth...

Just look at what The Giants have done with Jake Stringer.

Salem, May, Lever, Oliver, Langdon, Petty (but only if they refuse to put him down back)should all be on the table

McAdam, Spargo,Woewodin, Kbrown, Billings, Fullarton, Hore and Laurie should all be delisted

Flanders, Ramsden, CJ (hawks), M Rosas, Lord, Buku, Arthur Jones, Aleer, Pedlar, Erasmus
Hustwaite(confident he could do a Ned Long) should all be looked at.

At this stage I’d take a punt on JUH.

Are you suggesting, Lever and a kitchen sink... for JUH.?.. and some tidying up on a picks basis... aContra-deal type situation.

Maybe we can get into bed with the Doggies... you take mine and we'll take yours.?

next minute, trade Goody for Bever-ridge.

Depends what kitchen sink though…

Maybe Oliver for JUH?
One off-field problems for the other??
