Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I think it's going to be a wild off season in the minds of some people who have agendas.Trade these good players, easy to say, tell us who replaces them so we don't expect any improvement for another 5 years waiting to see if their replacements are any good
Or worse, hang onto them beyond 5 years hoping their ‘potential’ eventually blooms into something reasonable…

If Cripps wants to get back to WA I am all for it and would still love the bloke. Has been an absolute champion of our club.
I think we made a misstep focusing on a perfect spine for the team, I like Adelaide’s approach, just get in the best forward group possible and a premium mid to kick it to them (Dawson). The rest of the side is hoping for the best draft and trade wise. But it seems getting the forward mix right was their priority and it looks to be paying off for them
Yep. Brisbane’s approach of building from the midfield out, adding bits and pieces along the way, has also proved effective and sustainable.

rather win 5-8 games knowing we'll be rebuilding than 5-8 games after the CEO, Coach and Players were talking top 4 in the preseason

After 10 years of “rebuilding”, I’d rather win 14+ games every year and not be going into another long rebuild.

The young talent looks good. I’ve been more interested in the VFL than afl over the past 8 weeks.

The talent is really young, but also developing really well. They haven’t been diseased by the long-bomb, always contest gamestyle in the seniors.

I hope with some adjustments and the right balance of gun youth and a handful of seniors that we can crack a few more wins next year.

How nice? What type? I wish ITKs gave a bit more detail.
He adores a nice Victoria Sandwich, but he prefers seedless raspberry jam instead of the traditional strawberry. They'll be popping off to Woolies next Friday and have planned to purchase a Naked Plain Sponge cake from the bakery section, a jar of IXL raspberry jam that they'll strain through a jock strap to remove the seeds, and a can of aerosal whipped cream (the one that uses real dairy).

Could do myself a slice right about now.

Once Gawn retires and Trac leaves, Melb are gone. Back to the bottom 4 and they will have to go through a full rebuild. The question is what type of coach will they go after and what suits a rebuilding team? Will they go after Longmire as a handover coach to someone else?

Goodwin's sacking will start a domino effect I reckon.

Voss will be gone before the season finishes.

Think the only thing that has helped him so far is the fact that no other club has been on the market for a new coach.

We won't want to risk losing a quality candidate to another club, the club will move and move quickly.

The melts are entertaining…

If any player wants to go, let them! We’ll get adequately compensated and the sun will still come up tomorrow.

I see it as a positive, allows us to cherry pick the competition, for players to make us better.

The top teams continue to improve their lists each year through FA, trade or draft.

Where we’ve been hampered through salary cap constraints and forced to stick to the draft and low end trades. Which has caught up to us.

If we can nail trade period I could see us bouncing back in 2026.

+1000 to this.

I'd rather see a player flourish at another club than see them play with no passion for the Carlton jumper.

Force a club to pay overs, use that payment to plug some gaps.

Reload and go again.
