Without any issue? Unlikely. With minor issues that can be managed with resting him every couple months? We’ll see.
That's exactly what Pure_Ownage is saying though. He has an insane contract for someone that has a "we'll see" against a heavily managed version of a full season. He is correct that he's untradeable regardless of recent performance.

Jackson mail saying he wants Geelong is just confusing. Like, it ain't happening bud. He'd be perfect for us, but i assume this is just noise

His contract isn't really insane by today's standards. Everyone now saying it's 750k. Him and Jackson combined now is what TDK is getting offered. I think you'd find at least a couple teams that would trade for him and take on his full contract IF he was on the table.

Jackson wanting to get to Geelong makes a lot of sense. Broken off almost all ties with his family in Perth and his partners family who he is now closer to is in Geelong. But also keep dreaming bud cos it's not happening.

I doubt Jackson wants to leave considering how passionate on the field he is for the club, he seems to really click with the lads.

It's not so much the $ that Darcy is on (i agree the $ aren't insane) but the length of contract and the likelihood he will be broken down before the contract finishes. Yes a team that is in the window now and has a good 2nd ruck (to cover the games he will miss each year) might take him for the next 2 years and wear having to payout a medical retirement later on. But its a big disincentive.

On Jackson I dont give it much thought. For sure with the rumours she probably wants back to Geelong and he would probably consider it. And sure Geelong like that type of ruck. But freo won't trade him so its irrelevant-its more likely they upgrade his contract.

They’ve been floating that one around for months now. Cos his partner is from Geelong. No way it happens. Not while we’re just starting to challenge and he has 4 years left contracted.

At least when Melbourne was floating around they had Kozzie as a means of getting it done. Geelong have nothing.

Geelong have a pretty decent WA forward called Shannon Neale

A gun WA half back Humphries

And a highly rated young WA ruck in Mitch Edwards.

That isnt nothing.

TDK contract is a function of cap space saints will lose anyway so it's not really applicable.

Darcy's contracted $/yr may be fine at what was reported provided they haven't indexed massively. But the main problem PO was pointing at is that his body is unreliable and he's got half a decade left in his contract. A club would have to need a ruck, but not all the time because you can't rely on him being there. He's not tradeable because that Venn diagram doesn't overlap.

You have to convince them to leave though and to be honest Freo have all those positions pretty covered
Yeah we have three solid KPF who are all 22. Jackson works because he can play multiple roles. Not sure you can convince Neale he has a position here, and neither of the others are even close to good enough.

Neale wouldn’t want to go anyway, same with Humphries. Both are very involved with the club and both just signed on recently. Scratch has his own Cotton On line, Lawson just designed the indigenous jumpers

Edwards is the only one who may want to go back but then he’d be in the same position stuck behind other key position players.

Edwards was from our NGA and we never seemed too upset about losing him (and they made it known how annoyed they were about Motlop). Not sure we’d want him either way.

Neale's crucial for us. He's been groomed to take over for years, and he's now delivering on that promise.

He won't leave, and even if he wanted to, he's not a need for Freo either. With Treacy, Voss, and Amiss, they're pretty set for young KPF's themselves.

Lawson presents more of a need to take the attention off Clark, but probably worth less in terms of position. Half-backs and wingman are never going to be close to key forwards in value.

Edwards is promising, but being realistic, developing ruckman who haven't even debuted are worth SFA in a trade - No matter how good you expect them to be.

He looks like if he can stay healthy he’ll be decent.
I’d back in our development to get the most out of him.

Will request a trade to Victoria after the season to be closer to his partners family. Whether Fremantle entertain it is another thing. It's Geelong he would want but they most certainly can't provide a fair trade.

Why can’t they provide a fair trade?

Freo traded basically 13 and future 1st to Melbourne.

Geelong can trade their pick (currently 17) and a future 1st.

It’s not too dissimilar

Is this based on something more than RD's tweet?

He's not out of contract.

Lol you're on crack mate. Two picks in the 15-20 range.

Jackson would truly keep Geelong in premiership contention for years ahead. A gun midfielder & ruckman is what the club needs.
Would give up overs for a player like that.
He's a star and not yet turned 24.
