Don’t think he took him by surprise. There is an evident dislike to discuss the entire nas scenario - of which I have my own suspicion on why.

But he doesn’t squash what was said - so if we are looking at the facial expression, it’s also worth noting he never says Eddie is wrong.



I think the key part to this entire segment happens at the start of this one.
“We did speak before the show”
The segment was set up so Ross could address the key points of the last 24/28 hours. He knew what Eddie was saying and asking the entire time and if he didn’t agree - it wouldn’t have been said.

The WARCHEST stuff works to attract outsiders (sort of) but it can create some unrest internally.

It might not have, this could all be bullshit, but between cheques and egos its pretty likely someone is going "****ing $1.7m if weve got the money i should be getting more"

That doesnt mean they cant, youre also applying a flat logic to an easily emotive situation.

There is a reason companies like keeping salaries quiet. Its human nature to look and compare. If we havent managed it right, in a modern and considered way, id be suprised if we havent pissed at least a few off.

My suspicion is that he wants to extract everything he can out of this deal. But that he wants to be coming out looking like the winner and that he had a big win for his client.

We have 2 examples of the club leaking positivity and Williams absolutely squashing it to ensure he retains the whip hand. Club has gone absolutely silent since them both - which usually means your at the end game of those conversations and your not giving the other party a reason to play their games.

There was Caro firstly reporting that SOS had the SA meeting Lined up and then the following week: “Saints are confident they have their man” post that meeting.

Williams went radio silent and then claimed nas wasn’t sure and back to the drawing board - walked back the progress of that meeting.

Dilenas interview not long after saying he was confident and the club leaking to Jay Clark that big exclusive of a new deal being offered and that we are going to ask for the world which would make it impossible to land Nas for either SA club.

That was then followed by the stinky rich old man story not impressing NWM + family leak to Morris which we countered by releasing the Tex Wanganeen story.

Since that moment. It’s been radio silence and Ross confirmed that’s a club decision.

We know via Dilena that Williams has been beyond painful, provided the club minimal process when dealing with him and that he has preferred to be slow in his dealings with the club. That’s via 2 interviews.

If you’re a believer of Tony that the club knows the decision - then it’s negotiating to make Williams happy. Not to convince Nas.

The other interesting tidbits.

No club has approached us about a deal. That’s from Dilena.

So that means Rucci and Hinkley this week are trying to create some chaos as Port aren’t hearing anything and have no steer on the outcome right now. Remember Chris Davies just said he was confident that the port people could get a deal done - he poured cold water on the actual chance of nas coming - “there is a lot of water to go under the bridge before we get there”

So Windy has confirmed TDK's contract at 1.7 mill a year.
Consensus is, after front loading, 1.2 to 1.4 a year. So suddenly he is 600 to 700 in that scenario.
