I’m sniffing a 3 way trade ,

Dogs trade - 2025 first 2026 first Jamarra
Dogs get - butters

Saints trade - nwm
Santa get - dogs 2025/2026 first Jamarra

Port trade - butters
Port get - nwm

Thoughts ? Probably not good enough for the saints tbh

Port aren't trading Butters.

It's tough for Saints supporters.

Their club really only has the choice of getting nothing or accepting what's offered. An offer doesn't need to be NAS full value by any means, when the alternative is zero.

Didn’t you use the same rationale when posting numerous times that we weren’t paying 5 for Rankine? And that it would be gross negligence to do so. And then you then cancelled that account and opened up this one saying that we had to pay 5 because that’s what Suns demanded. You really do see the world through red, blue and yellow eyes.

So you actually agree they might bend the rules?

Yes that's what I said and you agree with me.

They have left themselves flexibility, the 2 in 4 isn’t hard and fast. So no, they won’t be bending the rules, they’ll be applying them as written and intended.

its going to be fascinating how either team gets it done if NAS is in fact going home to SA.

Who is expendable for Adelaide they would be ok with parting ways with? Josh Worral? Josh Rachelle?

What about Port Adelaide? Miles Bergman? Todd Marshall?

they dont have any draft capital mate, think its well in play

They dont need more draft capital he's ooc. 2 r1s and possibly a player like Berry or moraes will do it.

It will be picks and bottom end of best 22 players or non best 22 players. This movie has been seen before. St kilda will get below value unfortunately. Clubs won't be forcing players out for him.

I think youre underselling how steadfast St.Kilda I think will be. We're not talking a bloke who is a top 5 player in the team, we're talking a possible top 5 player in the comp. St.Kilda would want to be fairly compensated. Might not be completely fair, if not overs they want but I dont see it for anything other than a 10 -16 player + first for him. How they get said first will be the fascinating part

They have no choice. No decent players want to go there unless they offer de koning money and because managers have the power now port and Adelaide won't piss them off by trying to offer players that dont want to go. The alternative is the draft. St kilda will have to take what is offered. This is reality. I dont like it but its the system. It will be picks and young ish players that want to go for opportunity it won't be super quality ones.

Pick 5 will not be part of the Carlisle deal.

I don’t know how any saints fan could have any confidence of him staying now. They’ve made their best offer, he isn’t going through all this just to delay re-signing.

Still think the logical outcome is he signs for two years at Saints.

This gives Port two years to get their ducks in a row and accommodate a reasonable trade.

Otherwise hard to see how Port scramble a deal together that is feasible?
Port’s GM has said he’s confident they get a deal done.

All I’ve taken from this thread is remembering how much I hate the player and agent power in AFL. Saints should be fairly compensated for such a good player and it’s ridiculous that they’ll probably end up with a couple shitty firsts and low end fringe player(s). People have issues with FS and Academy or whatever, frankly I take more an issue with this crap.

Whilst I agree regarding Butters value, NWM did have 36 touches and kick 2 against Geelong in round 19 and 43 touches Hawthorn in Round 16.

The Saint have had a softer draw this year - courtesy of not playing finals for a while, but you can’t really say he hasn’t performed against top 10 teams.
you might want to re-check that

Or Port Adelaide will have to find a way to get picks off another team to satisfy St Kilda.

Wow that’s crazy if true

I would have expected him to come out and say it’s unlikely there’s a way to get a deal done

I’m sitting here absolutely astonished
