The relationship between the club, player and manager would have to be pretty rotten for PSD threats, and I just don't see that happening with a guy like Nasiah

It would be a massive failure of his management too if he can't guide his player through to the preferred destination - so multiples parties have something to lose by going with the PSD threat

He won't end up in the PSD because in the end st kilda will bend and take what's offered with some minor picks or fringe players added. But if he did end up in the PSD it would be perfectly legal as it has been every other time a player has.
Your idea that somehow the afl would try and change the rules to stop it is fanciful.
Afl mediation is really only primarily to bring a 3rd/4th club in with other picks to get a deal done (as was done right back to the Burgoyne deal) it isn't to magically make port trade out top 10 players to give St kilda 'fair value'. That won't happen.
