I'd argue he's played St.Kilda wonderfully. He knows he is worth some coin, he ain't worth $2m but show a little willingness to leave and suddenly you go from a 1.2m paycheck to 2m.

St.Kilda aren't giving him $2m if he signed at the start of the year and had showed desire to stay.

I think him going from a very good player to top 5 in the comp also had something to do with his price going up.

NWM will be gone in 2 years, I reckon we’ve just got to enjoy him while we can.

That's though up to the club to show him there is a future at Moorabbin. They've got 2 years to be in a position of playing finals going into his next contract negotiation. Better than him walking now, so it's a huge win for the Saints.

I think the Saints can be in a better spot than Port in 2 years time, maybe not Adelaide though but Adelaide might not have the cap in 2 years if they have to pay their own players.

Absolutely a key factor, his own performances has warranted a pay jump. Big reason why players don't always sign on straight away. Nas played this whole situation perfectly.

If he signed an extension at the beginning of the year, it's easily under a million. Play some great football, now you're around that $1m mark. Feign interest in a return home, play even BETTER football? Hello $2m payday.

Superb work from him, now up to the Saints to figure out how to build out their list around him ASAP.
