I mean if Brayshaw didn't run into someone in the air it wouldn't have happened.Collingwood supporters shouldn't be calling the afl out on shenanigans.
You guys won a GF by a kick in 2023 with Maynard not getting even a week for ending Brayshaw career .
That was a VIC afl special if I have ever seen one
It absolutely does given Rioli’s punishment (or lack of).
Star player finals discount and/or not wanting to get the indigenous community offside like they did with Willie.

I remember thinking a few years that the fines given to some players based on their income was inconsequential. Perhaps fines should be a set % of a players income as opposed to a set monetary value?I don't like that all these tribunal decisions in general are resulting in more and more suspensions. Its just expanding their power to influence the game as a result of what one player does. Then you have umpires getting more and more involved in decisions.
I think a fine is the way to go. Make it substantial enough to deter them. As for say, rough conduct stuff, I'd prefer a red card and a fine than all this theatre about how many weeks. Unless its really bad.
But the AFL media circus love it. They're salivating over this Rankine thing, probably brings in a lot of the non AFL brigade for various reasons.
Izak Rankine won't be able to participate in the AFL grand final cause he called a hetrosexual a f*g, but Snoop Dogg who publicly used homophobic slurs against a GAY COUPLE in 2014 will be there performing and making bankThey just paid snoop dog a cutla million to perform.
Do you think they actually care about the demographic they pretend to protect?

Why does the AFL have to have a pride round ?i am a big whatever happens on the field stays on the field guy
but the AFL can't have a pride round, then at the same time allow players to use homophobic slurs.
Rankine apparently does. Why does the AFL have to have a pride round ?
It's sport no one cares who you have sex with
Tex apparently does.or what colour your skin is .

Is IQ gay ?Rankine apparently does.
Tex apparently does.
Typical VFL hypocrisyI mean if Brayshaw didn't run into someone in the air it wouldn't have happened.
Does it matter? Rankine seems to think calling IQ gay is insulting. Is IQ gay ?
And also run the AFLW which 70-80% of the player base is gay.i am a big whatever happens on the field stays on the field guy
but the AFL can't have a pride round, then at the same time allow players to use homophobic slurs.
He threatened physical harm to another player off the field. Port did throw out racial abuse as a reason even though the player involved didn't racially abuse him in anyway. 1 week was a very lenient sentence for what he did.Rioli didn't say anything homophobic
It's about trying to create a safe environment for everyone regardless of your race or preferences. Why does the AFL have to have a pride round ?
It's sport no one cares who you have sex with or what colour your skin is .
We seem to have everything tied up in identity politics when most people watching sport are trying to escape from that BS

It doesn't really work that way in reality. Like in the world of gender studies or post colonial racial studies or intersectional feminism its all about that, but in reality certain communities may be less politically correct etc. You'd think someone from a minority group unfairly persecuted often would have more sense than to inflict slurs detrimental to another unfairly persecuted minority group.
I think there are too many themed rounds, every game becoming this cup, and award for every game. Don't mind indigenous or Rivalry round, but don't see the point in the others. Including Gather Round, unless the idea is to rotate states. Why does the AFL have to have a pride round ?

Do gay people even really care or want Rankine suspended? Or is this another example of a small group of elites at AFL house choosing to be offended on behalf of another group to virtue signal how evolved and superior they are.
Oh I'm sure, that's kind of the culture around footy, its a far cry from the world of the universities. I am glad a lot of that has been stamped out, but theres still more than most realise. And most of these ex afl player all used racial and gay slurs on and off the field .
Gary Lyon and derm used to say horrible things to Chris Lewis who would then be suspended for retaliation.
These guys should have no opinions on these acts unless they are willing to be retrospectively accountable for thier own actions
this doesn't make sense?
Rioli didn't say anything homophobic, and Finlayson has an aboriginal background?
