Good thing he's got a few others achievements that sit higher on his list of accolades.Again though, if you have people claiming he is the best player in the game then the standard is higher, so the AA bench is a failure.

Versatility an important criteria when assessing GOATness."But but the AA positions are the best indication..."
How good does a 22 year old player have to be that people are using your selection on the bench of the AA team as a negative?
Despite it being your 3rd consecutive AA guernsey after only 4 years at the level...
So you're content that Ed Richards was a better player than Bont, Serong and Rowell in 2025?The AA is still the best way of determining how good a player was during the season. Definitely the most fair award, and also the most thought out given the AA selectors usually take months to decide. Again, the AA award has its issues, but it is better than every other award.
As previously mentioned, just showing his versatility.Again, I think Daicos is a top 10 player in the competition, but that is not your assertion. You are saying he is the best, so that means a higher standard is being set.
If he is a top 10 player in the competition being on the bench is fine, which is what I believe, but if he is the best player in the competition like you believe then being on the bench is a failure.
As previously mentioned, just showing his versatility.
Yeah, behind Ed Richards. But it shows that he was not the best player in any given position for the 2025 season, hence why he ended up on the bench.
Lets face it mate he is talking about now, who is the best now and it's not Daicos. All the players he mentioned are ahead of him at the end of the 2025 season not two or three years ago.Dunno, ask the players and umpires.
And can we do coaches votes over the last 3 years, or are we only limited to 2025 to suit your narrative?
Yep, sure they are.Lets face it mate he is talking about now, who is the best now and it's not Daicos. All the players he mentioned are ahead of him at the end of the 2025 season not two or three years ago.

Yep, sure they are.![]()
How many years straight does he need to have multiple top 3 finishes in the major individual awards for you to get on board?Glad you finally are seeing reason.
We can lock this thread now, revist it in a few years when more information about Daicos progression is known.
How many years straight does he need to have multiple top 3 finishes in the major individual awards for you to get on board?
Because he's currently got a streak of 3 seasons.
Will 5 seasons be enough for you? Because that will be a longer streak than any other player has managed since all three awards have been available.
Out of interest, did Daicos crack it for your top 10 in 2023?I just want to see him become the best player in the competition and have that being sustained for a few years.
I am not denying he is a great player, and if he keeps his current performances up he will be considered a great of the game, but I don't think he has been the best player in any year yet. It could happen, might even probably happen, but it has not happened yet.
Out of interest, did Daicos crack it for your top 10 in 2023?
If he 'clearly' wasn't the best in 2023, who was 'clearly' better?I didn't create a list, and I have no idea where Daicos ranked that year other than the fact he clearly was not the best player of that season. From memory he was good that year, but 2023 was a while ago now and I don't tend to remember opposition players in a detailed enough way to have a full memory of what they did 3 years ago.
This is the same algorithm that had Daicos 25% better than the next best player on the ground in the 2025 Preliminary Final, right?
Can you please now share Supercoach and AFL Fantasy scores?
Because they're equally irrelevant.

Indeed. You are taking fagic to new and unseen levels here.
You are now arguing the prime piece of evidence for player ratings under-rating Daicos is that the player ratings over-rated him in his most recent match.
I guess you could explain to us exactly why the player ratings system gets Bontempelli so right and Daicos so wrong seeing you know all about it....
Indeed.
Because I'm the one who simultaneously talks up PLaYeR RaTiNGZ and talks down Daicos' Preliminary Final performance, to make it clear to everyone how fried my brain is....
Yeah. It’s only how Fadge had them rated that has relevance.
