Last week's 23 is what we go with first final provided no injuries or suspensions this week I imagine.

Knevitt, Clark & Bews look to be the likely emergencies - Bews getting the nod this week after not playing last week, and thinking he'll be the one starting as the sub

Clohesy would seem to be next in line after that trio based on his inclusion on the emergency list this week - not sure we'll see OH or Duncan feature again this season, even on the emergency list

Good change.
Henry doesn't deserve a recall.

I still want Jed around next year. Will be better depth than whatever 1st-2nd year player we have on the list developing in defence.

So we replace a key forward with a nuggety half back, ****ing why?

Surely we could have given a like for like player a go here or is this a farewell game for Bews?

Not sure qualifying final prep is the time to do it.

If the list decision is between pick 80 & Bews, go with Bews on a 12 month contract even as insurance

We keep hearing that this years draft isn't seen as a strong one, so surely we don't look to take more than minimal picks and then we can reassess the list situation next year

They're probably just thinking Bews is the next in line if we get any injuries in finals so getting him some gametime is better than playing a debutant who's no chance come finals, even though a couple of the young talls have had strong finishes in the VFL.

Unless you find another Lawson...?

Surely he is not next in line to replace Neale or Cameron though?

Agree, would be strongly leaning to Edwards in this scenario; like-for-like in terms of height, give him a small taste of AFL footy before he knuckles down for the 2026 pre-season.
Molier looks more like a forward to me than Edwards. Molier is 200+ cms.
I think that they are both a good summer or two away from being AFL players, but I love to see kids debut.

Jack Henry to resume his love affair with goals against Richmond 😍

In reality though, this change & the emergency list would make it seem pretty clear that none of the forwards who've been playing VFL are seen as being in our finals squad without multiple players being unavailable

We could will see Dangerfield and/or Stanley playing more from FF this week, using Martin more up forward after he did a lot of his work between the arcs & in defence last week but has shown himself more then handy as a forward

Looks like they're backing in those who've been doing the job over recent times

Where has this season gone? Last round wtf

A season goes so quickly
You don't know where you are
A season goes so quickly
You don't know where you are
I said I'm sorry
Don't you know I try
Everybody's watching
And it makes me cry

If any of our first year players showed any aptitude or improvement to suggest they'd be fine defensive depth for 2026 then fine. But I don't think that's the case. If we're serious he should be here in 2026.

That would be nice but require OH to perform to a level in which we think that
Yeah he could probable start with a big summer on the weights and an injury free preseason he'll be 23 next season he has heaps of talent but yet to find his niche has time on his side if he can get some desperation into his game things will start to look up for him.

Bews in for Neale. Going to finally release Bews in his last Cats game as a KPF. About time.
His old man would have played with the original Scratcher, so this is a bit of retro Cats' team in that respect. Sort of. Anyway it's a great selection IMO. If he plays finals he is getting a tune up. If he doesn't he gets a send off potentially.

I kinda feel that the best thing for him right now could be to get away from football and have a mental break from the game - obviously that's not on the cards until after the seasons over

That mental break could be an important step in preparation for a big pre-season and taking his game to the next level in 2026

Nice to see bews get a farewell game. I think its well deserved and hopefully as many of our members as possible can get there to see him play (likely the last time unless we get injuries). It's sad Duncan couldn't get a farewell game too but thats the nature of these things.

Yeah it keeps him fresh in case mullin or stewart gets injured in finals and we need him and if not its a nice farewell. We'll deserved.
