Tell you what we are good at....

Getting comprehensively beaten but making the scoreboard look semi respectable late in the game.

Arresting momentum in 2 or 3 of these runs of 6+ unanswered goals and we likely finish top 2...

R4 vs Fremantle: 6 goals (Q2 17:35 - Q2 31:43)
R5 vs Brisbane: 9 goals (Q3 08:42 - Q4 12:04)
R11 vs Geelong: 6 goals (Q2 01:40 - Q2 29:21)
R24 vs Fremantle: 8 goals (Q2 04:55 - Q3 01:36)

We are the masters of throwing away matches with single-quarter fade-outs. We finish the H&A season with 60 quarters won, only Adelaide have won more.

Not sure what everyone else thinks, but we were obliterated at stoppage and on the spread. We pressed way too high and paid the price, but we failed to put any speed on the ball and give our forwards a chance.
Massively overated midfield

Game plan needs an overhaul (won’t happen with this bloke in charge)

We need at least one elite backman

If we could send Naughton back, leave Darcy forward with Croft and find a better ruck we might actually be competitive but it’s a pipe dream until they shoot the stubbon dude.

What we achieved in 10 possessions Freo did it in 3 possessions

They had ball speed and were clean.

Too many players shit themselves when the heats turned up. Been the same issue for several years now.

Not sure what happens behind closed doors but the coaches need to seriously harden this playing group up.

And what the f**k happen to our A Grade midfield in that 2nd quarter. Got absolutely torn apart at every centre bounce stoppage.

Such a disappointingly piss weak way to finish the season. Again!

I can’t stand to sit here and stomach listening to Bevo dribble on in the post game. For those who have watched it, what was the excuse excuses today?

An Essendon win would be just about the most unexpected and exceedingly humorous thing I've ever seen in five decades of following footy. Come on, Bombers. Do it for the LOLs.

Then we troll everyone and win 4 in a row for the flag.

Come on Dogs!

Worst premiers ever!

Let’s do it!

Props to Baker, he had a slip here and there but kept his head up and worked the whole game.

Astro tried, delivery i50 was pretty bad.

Unfortunately we got little out of Richards, JJ, Dale, English, Libba etc. Darcy also was well down

JOD & Lobb had bad games at the wrong time. Subbing Buss off though was just mind boggling when leaving McNeil on who was invisible the whole game

Arty is a keeper, he just has it.
Showed good signs and I’m glad given he missed so much of the year.

He’s always had the ability - hopefully next year is the year he puts it together. If he can match VDM/McNeil’s running ability there’s a spot just waiting for him.

"Something something not good enough, something something, got to work to improve a few areas, get better, stick together, blah blah, blah...blah.'

Haven't watched it but it'll be something like that. Lots of words, no substance and definitely no self reflection and demanding better.

Also pretty frustrating we have 900k of salary cap sitting at the love machine nightclub on a Sunday morning at 2.30am .

Probably the only side in the comp that has this conundrum.
Being somewhat fair to our lot, if we had Weightman, Treloar and JUH generally available during the year we would have won the extra game or two.

Having those three out all year with Bont and Darcy missing long stints meant there was a lot of well paid firepower out of the side.

Unfortunately of the three only Weightman is likely to be a factor in the future.

Bont was enormous. Couldn’t have asked for more from him. Libba did as much as could be expected at his age. West was unbelievable. He’s an absolute Rottweiler in the forward line. Croft backed up the Eagles game and looks a lock for 26.

Plenty of others disappointing. Needed more from Richards. Lobb struggled, looked like those hits to the ribs he took a few weeks back might be still bothering him. No-shows from a lot of lesser lights when their moments arrived.

The super high press was exposed again, and again, and again. Freo kicking long to at least defensive point of the square, but usually wing edge of the centre square. Their half backs and mids hit the contest at speed and work the ball out the back, where we have zero sweepers and only one on ones and acres of space. Contrast that with Freo who at times would have three sweepers pushing back behind our attacking line as soon as we won it back, forcing us to stop and prop.

The headline posted online is ‘we missed an opportunity’ absolute rage bait
