Now please list the reasons for trialling Charlie as KPF1 over the pre season.Reasons for trialling Charlie as KPD2 over the pre season.
1. Less stress on the knees and ankles playing behind the footy.
2. Helps his development with a focus on accountability
3. One of our better field kicks, to open up the corridor
4. He seems jaded in his current role
5. He's better in the air than any of his likely opponents under 197 cm
6. Our forward line has functioned well without him drawing a majority of entries his way
Our poor season has shifted a lot of heat to Voss when Austin and co should be well and truely in the gun, there’s also amount of bad excisions is, well, a lot.
Paying out one players contract is enough, we can’t do 4 and I’d expect going off selection that, Durdin and Fog are safe but the other two should be looking for a token trade to save their careers.
We currently have a list of small forwards that consist ofAbsolutely NOT.
Austin and co have conducted a desperately needed list refresh.
Austin has been the best at drafting Carlton has seen since the salary cap breach days.
He has also been able to find diamonds in the rough with players like Lord, O’Keefe, Flynn, Frank the Tank.
We also have a great crop of youth coming thru in O’Keefe, O’Farrell, Hollands, Cowan, Carroll, Wilson, Moir, Jagga and with Dean + hopefully Walker.
He has made 3 main mistakes. Taking one year to cut the perennially injured, giving Williams his long contract and cut too deep last year.
But on balance, he has played a blinder and if we had someone less competent in charge we’d have missed the finals AND have a bare cabinet of youth.
Salary cap has gone up a lotlf Ben McKay & Josh Battle are some sort of benchmark, a 4year $700k deal should be end of 1st round.

We already know what he brings up front. Depends if you think he is getting back to his best or needs a change in role. Now please list the reasons for trialling Charlie as KPF1 over the pre season.
Sos isn’t whoring himself around.
The club has let him and other key players down with their standards.
They want success and more importantly the right attitude, mentality and culture with the group.
I’m hoping we have finally made the right calls and are proving to SoS, who bleeds navy, that we will fix.
Jack's worth as a key defender would be at a similar level to Battle & McKay if the system was equitable we would be receiving more than a pick 10 for TDK based on a $1.7 7 year deal alot of subjectivity around the system.Cumming got the Giants and end of 1st round compensation pick (Band 2) last year but that was a 6-year deal. McKay/Battle were on more money per year and had 6-year deals vs the 4-year deal for JSOS.
Yeh if the system was equitable but free agency isn't unfortunatelyJack's worth as a key defender would be at a similar level to Battle & McKay if the system was equitable we would be receiving more than a pick 10 for TDK based on a $1.7 7 year deal alot of subjectivity around the system.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Voss hasn’t set the standards required and we are now in damage control.
You don’t lose players like SoS for no reason. Quality people want success and will go elsewhere if they believe their club is failing to provide the right environment. Voss and others need to start getting serious and hopefully we won’t lose players that are being heavily chased by others.
We have the group to go far, we just haven’t set the environment. Hopefully Wright will do that. Fingers crossed.
Talk that o.Allen going to get WC pick 2, surely Brisbane isn’t giving him a contract worth that much.Yeh if the system was equitable but free agency isn't unfortunately
What if some players are allowed to get away with things and being looked on favourable by the coaches or admin and hence standards are out the door? If standards aren’t equally followed or met by all, the process falls down.Whilst I agree the club hasn’t been set up for success for some time I think our senior players dont have any idea about standards required to be winners. This make sense because they were taught by players before them who had no idea about what it took to be successful either. That said the senior players have also been in the game long enough to work out that they may need to do more than what they have been doing to be successful. We desperately need a change in mentality driven by people who actually want to be successful rather than those who just like talking about being successful on social media forums.
Unfortunately the system now is totally flawed around free agency & Academy players, Brisbane & Gold Coast milking the system.Yeh if the system was equitable but free agency isn't unfortunately
He's elite and could play either end and dominate but theirs only one problem.....Reasons for trialling Charlie as KPD2 over the pre season.

Which is why you play him in an accountable role and get him to learn it.He's elite and could play either end and dominate but theirs only one problem.....
He doesn't chase, tackle or defend!!!
When you are putting up those names, perhaps you could add the pick /trade asset used to sign each. For example, how many first round picks were used for those players? We currently have a list of small forwards that consist of
Durdin
Williams
Motlop
Fogarty
Evans
Orazio
Young
White
You can say he's made some good picks here and there, but in no way has he played a 'blinder' on that group alone.
We also have, on overall balance, one of the worst lists in the comp for kicking talent and repeat sprint ability when every other team in the league has shifted towards that with the speed of the modern game.
Thats irrelevant. If the list manager hasn't invested the appropriate currency into fixing an issue thats plagued us for years and years now then they're not doing their job right. When you are putting up those names, perhaps you could add the pick /trade asset used to sign each. They could do with targeting a player like Cincotta too if he gets culled by us. Very reliable lock down defender, we're just in desperate need of some better offensive rebound down back which is pretty much the opposite of them.Having watched the Doggies bottle a finals campaign today it's plain and simple, they need to up their offer to JSOS. Too many front runners in their back half. Hopefully it may increase our compo.

I am now struggling to see any sense in cutting Cinc. Whilst I find him limited, I wonder if Voss is limiting his output, but all that aside, he’s a solid depth player who can play a few roles. They could do with targeting a player like Cincotta too if he gets culled by us. I'm much more confident in Austin than SOS but he's still made some serious mistakes building our list. Our young players like Carroll, Young, Cowan, Wilson are good ball users. We like okay when we move the ball with speed and skill - the game plan makes us look worst than we are.
2) yes small forwards are an issue, but he inherited a list with no wingers, no running half backs, a light midfield after SPS, Stocker, Dow, Fisher and Setterfield didn’t work out.
He inherited it at a time we were moving up the ladder and didn’t have good draft picks.
Over the past 3 years he has drafted our next midfield and backline.
I’m much more comfortable in Austin than I was with SOS and those before him.
I could see him being the victim of needing some more draft picks to shuffle about to bring in players and match bids on Dean and Ison.I am now struggling to see any sense in cutting Cinc. A few should go before Cinc, I don’t see how Wright says we need to improve depth, for us to go delist Cinc
