Friday night is such a kick in the nuts to Cats fans. "We won't let you play at your home ground, and also we're gonna play you at a time that is hugely inconvenient for the majority of your supporters to attend".

What's wrong with the Saturday twilight like in 2022? Perhaps that would allow the cats a better chance at another flag and we wouldn't want that would we AFL?

Man I hate the AFL so much.

It will be about eyeballs on telly, not a conspiracy.

The Brisbane Broncos play an important match on Saturday night.

That's the only reason we are playing Friday night.

If the Broncos game was Friday we would be playing on Saturday.

If it's eyeballs on TV then it doesn't matter where the game is played. You can't have it both ways, stop simping for league HQ.
I’m talking about the time slot.

Look, I don’t like it either but I would blame money over malfeasance.

Interstate teams almost always play at night because of TV

Anyway... in terms of flag chances, I still think that if Brisbane plays to their best - even including the Interstate Factor - then it's two goals better than everyone else. They are the only side whose forward line is as good as ours, and their midfield is vastly better.

Other than that, the only sides inside the 8 that I would feel comfortable against are Freo and Gold Coast. The rest of them we have had some really close games with so far this year, and I would suggest that we were lucky to beat Hawthorn and Collingwood in particular.

This is honestly the most even season I can remember since 1997.

I hear you but I'd love the AFL to come out and say if TV or bums on seats is more important.
And also whether you get more Bums on Seats on Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Obviously I get the travel argument from Geelong, but post-work Friday is a great timeslot for adults.

As a general rule, though, if there's a non-expansion interstate side in it, it gets a night game in the first week.

Sat is just plain and simply easier for Cats fans and traveling Bris fans but at least it isn't Thursday which is absolutely the worst time slot.

We’ll need to produce a 2022 QF like performance to get the job done.

We’re healthy, primed and ready, up against the reigning premiers, let’s see if we can do it.

The 2025 premiers will come from this game.
Still the best QF I have ever seen. The only competition being Sydney West Coast 2006

I'd rather play the Giants on the MCG than the Dawks

Nah no way. Where has this sudden love for the Hawks come from for Geelong supporters. Without Day they are the ultimate plodder team. I would say the best match up for us of any of the teams that have made finals.

Giants play K Park better than us, that's about it.

I'm very confident we would beat them on the MCG.

Hawthorn are good and they're hitting form at the moment. I don't wanna play them with the crowd in their favour

I live a long way away these days but if it was Thursday I wasn't going. Friday I can go now. Will need to book accommodation and take part of Friday off.
Saturday would've been better but I'm equally grateful it isn't Thursday.

Me being in QLD means Thursday and Friday are no goes.. The only hope i had was Saturday

Brisbane will beat us. Think they are thr best team in it.

Dont think we can do it unless dangerfield goes beast mode in the midfield to help us get our outside game going.

Dunkley absolutely destroys us each time, as does harris andrews. If these two struggle i think we can go a long way

Brisbane's best is still the best in the league but they've been prone to lapses this year. Just need to take advantage when we we get the opportunity. People also thought we had little chance vs Port in the QF last year and we went alright then.

Ive been watching flights from BNE to MEL on the Friday go from $232 to $491 one way since the game date/time was announced 🤡 - the prices to fly down now are obscene.
Considering flying on Thursday night and staying/working from the hotel room on friday before heading to the game..

Just watched parts of our KP loss to Brisbane and despite the end margin we were not that far off it.

We had some very uncharacteristic errors, Miers’ kicking was awful, Danger and Neale were spoiling each other in the forward line, Martin was in the backline and Ollie Henry was pretty anonymous up forward (scoreless). We also played Mullin on Cameron instead of as a mid tagger, which was a huge error IMO. Dominated the third quarter but couldn’t kick straight while Morris kicked them from the boundary line at the other end.

We only had three goalkickers for the match. Very hard to see that happen again especially on the expanses of the MCG.

The three players to clamp down on are clearly McCluggage (Mullin), Rayner (MOC) and Zorko. We played Mannagh on Zorko in this game and Zorko destroyed him - 33 touches compared to 10/no score.

Get those matchups right this time and there’s no reason we aren’t right in this game.
