Never heard of Margaret River? Still two hours south of Perth, makes Bells closer.....If it's surf and footy then it has to be Goldie
You have Scabs and Triggs in Perth for surfing. Usually getting good waves in summer when the doctor comes in. Mullaloo is also pretty good.

Sadly, I'm not really interested in surfing after losing one of my old friends to a freak surfing accident back in May of 2022.

I actually think the club would be willing to let Charlie go for the right price. I don’t think Sydney is prepared to cough up what it will take to get it over the line, though.

Thinking there’s a 70-80% chance he stays.
Agreed - I see it as a win-win, assuming Austin and GW don’t bend over

I once sat next to Setanta O on a flight from Melb to Syd.

I wanted to say hi and chat to him, but his facial expression said 'Don't yer fookin' dare talk to me, ya lil leprechaun!'
I bumped into setanta on Bondi beach when I used to live there.
He was an absolute gentleman and probs thought that no one up there knew anything about AFL.
I thanked him for all his efforts whilst at Carlton and even though he was on the GWS list he said he would always be a blue!!
But then again I’m not a leprechaun!!!

Former Carlton people seen while I was working as a glazier in Melbourne.
David Parkin - Deacon Uni
Curly Austin - the high school he was working at in the Northern Suburbs.

Former Carlton people seen while out and about.
Sellers - at a convention
Rod Ashman (at his newsagency)
Renato Serafini - at his parents's house in West Preston... she did the best baked cheese cake ever
Justin Madden - at a gaming convention
Braddles - at the same gaming convention
SOS - at the same gaming convention
There were a couple of other Carlton players in the group of 5 I saw wandering around the area I was in at the gaming convention.

Fitzroy players met
Laurie Serafini - in the street in front of his parents home, and at his parents home later.
Garry Wilson - his parents newsagency.

Ok... now... when I saw Parkin and Austin, they were working and I was working. I couldn't stop to talk to them. Sellers I had a brief chat with... he was one of the reps at the convention... selling Valvoline I think. Ashman I had a brief chat with... his newsagency was busy. Madden, Braddles, and co, I couldn't talk to them because I was busy because I was part of one of the gaming stores exhibitions. I was painting minitures for Warhammer and Blood Bowl. I was in the middle of a piece so I couldn't stop to talk even if I wanted.

Garry Wilson, I met when my grandmother took me up to the local newsagency and I realised who he was. I met Laurie Serafini first when he and one of his friends were playing kick to kick in the street in front of our houses. He invited me to have a kick, then started to teach me how to kick properly, mark properly and handball properly. Every now and then Renato came out and joined us. Once in a while, Garry would show up visiting Renato and have a kick or two with Laurie and me in the street.

‘My view’ Caro
No wonder I don’t watch any football show. Bunch of talking heads, all bickering at the same time. A gossip rag is what shows like that are.

If Charlie Curnow does leave for an interstate club, the biggest reason will very likely be to get away from the Melbourne media. Now it’s bordering on harassment.
