Ned was a mad North fan (probably not of the bigfooty nuff nuff variety) growing up and we had a real go a few years back.

He has gotten better since.

Get!! Get!! GET!!
Yep and we were apparently going to select Flanders if we didn’t trade that pick into the following draft if available

Can play any position so that versatility would appeal to clarko

How does that actually help GC?

They have two top 5 academy kids on the way, they already have 3 first rounders, and they're tight for list spots.

Would've thought what they'd be after are 2026 picks.
Yeah they have two top 5s, with atm picks 6, 10 and 15.

Granted they'll want more than the points of 6 otherwise they may as well just use it. If not a player then perhaps we have wriggle room with a future 3rd which gives them a free 400+ pts for the next draft and/or if we can get some later picks (upgrades) for the likes of Scott, WP, Fisher.

Or future first + second and future 3rd for both 6 and 10. Or something along those lines.

That gets interesting. Our two early seconds would be worth roughly pick 6.

Pick 6 = 1751
Picks 20 and 21 = 1790

We know our seconds will be pushed back to near 30, but given GC would use them early for the points they'd retain much more value.
You are looking at the old points index. Under the new one.............

Pick 6 = 1659
Picks 20 + 21 = 1478

We'd need to use our F1. Don't think we should.

Yeah or Scott perhaps. Really depends on their list spots i guess.

We should really be going after that given what will happen to our early seconds. Pick 6 puts us in the range for Schubert (197cm key fwd), Dean (193cm defender) or a bigger bodied mid in Greeves (191cm).
Not Dean, he is Carlton father/son.

Maybe but it would give us pick 6,20 and 21 in this draft
Yes that's right, if we go that way, whether its trading a future pick or package our two early picks make no difference, if we were to get that pick, the only thing of importance would be to get our intended target.

To my mind 20 and 21 are worth more in points than in the draft after they get pushed back to 30ish.

Id consider using them with our future first to get picks 6, 10 and Flanders. Yeah both will be pushed back a bit themselves but im expecting us to push for the 8 next year as well.

We have a winner! I was wondering when I would see the first postseason post suggesting a trade that would be great for us, but that there's no way in hell the counterparty would consider. It's probably not the first, and definitely won't be the last of this period, just the first I've seen.

The other teams around the league will take a view on where we could finish next year, especially if we start shipping our F1. I'd say most will say our likely outcome is in the range of 10th to 16th, so somewhere between pick 3 and pick 9 before all the normal adjustments. How would our fans react if we gave up two top ten picks plus an experienced player, for one future first that may be lower, and a pair of second-rounders?

Does Flanders get a game for us? Genuine question.

In that case we should aim for both pick 6 and 10.
If there were a couple of players around there that suit needs, sure. But it doesn't look like there are or that this is a draft we should be trading in to.

I suspect that the smartest play this year may be to do stuff all. Just take our two second rounders, upgrade pink and that's it.

The only way the Suns would do this is to get more points through the door.

They wouldn't accept a points deficit trade

I'd be happy with the following:

Give: Pick 20, Pick 21, 2026 second round pick
Get: Pick 6, Pick 56

Yeah, my point exactly.

I would rather Powell. Had a massive year last year but has dropped right off this season.
He has being playing on the flanks this season mostly, rarely got a run on the ball. He has struggled with a back injury for a lot of the season. Would easily be one of North's first picked every week.

I have just received a request from a new BF Account called @zzonSgiB to ask all you posters on this thread.

Can you please limit your posts to one a day, and keep it under 300 words. As he is struggling to write them all down in his 96 page Spirax exercise book 😎
