Does anybody know if we are talking to Ned Reeves, Liam Reidy or Ned Moyle? Surely we aren’t planning to go into next year with the same ruck combo?!
You'd hope we're throwing money around for a 204cm plus ruckman to help out our thin midfield. Big fellas at Moyles 206cm plus the wingspan have far more impact away from centre bounce ballups through shear size. Even if it's a predictable hit to 3 o'clock it's better than getting dominated like we do now.

The way Silvagni has been spoken about in the media is like he is ****ing Nick Daicos leaving Collingwood.

Dude is a scrub of the highest order and would be ‘generic footballer #103721 goes from one Vic club to another’ if he had a different last name.

Band 1? Spare me.

SOS giving a massive overs contract to his son also quite funny
SOS has manipulated Jnrs path from school boys.

He wasnt a forward initially at school or at Coates, until SOS demanded (and not politely) the coach try him as full forward. He bagged a few and made the Vic Metro side and then bagged a few more to justify his draft selection.

He wasnt quick, had a good leap on him, but was always good at reading the play and had some versatility but couldn't go through the midfield.

The mistake the blues made was not making him a defender from the get go. They were so afraid of him having to be compared to SOS they tried to make him a all over the ground utility until last year.

If only SOS wanted Mowies

Do you reckon his dad got them to play him forward so he had less chance of failing to live up to his name as a FB?

A lot of noise has been made about the high compensation of FA transfer. I don't think the compensation is the problem but instead who should pay for the compensation. In the distant future, AFL can consider asking the receiving club to pay for 50% of the compensation. (Of course, as a WCE supporter, I don't want to see it affects the Warmer FA)

A club like Brisbane is currently getting the best of both worlds.

1. Access to FA's without paying compensation
2. Access to high end draft picks through Academy players

Under your strategy, when Brisbane takes Allen & Draper they would be held to give up the 50% of equivalent draft points to the picks handed to the receiving club.

Removing these draft points would then limit their ability to match bids on draft night.

I love it, makes 100% sense for me.

Gettable update

Starcevich will go down to the wire. 50/50 Eagles or Lions. Lions ins the race for Budarick though so might be planning for him to leave.

Have entered the Windhager race but he’s expected to stay.

Hawks had 11 years at about $1.7m
A year on the table for Harley.

Ryan medical at Saints this week. Unsure how it gets done.

Oscar expected to be band 1.

Not mentioned in Erasmus, Reidy (Blues), Ah Chee.

McVee no real pull to go back to Perth. Love how they switch this when it’s a country WA boy.

Motlop unknown, has offers but unsigned and not sure why.

Really not linked to many players which a little bit of a worry.

1. Eh.

2. What was that shit about not wanting to disturb the whole list for one player? Failed mind games.

Player.

Which is why we have entered the windhager talks. Hopefully the club has told the blunders that we don't won't picks we want a player.

They have plenty to give, they're just going to have to make a sacrifice to get the fast track to finals.

I'm wondering exactly how keen north are to get back into this draft. Been reported they're keen on gc's first via North but really with our bidding ability that shouldn't be going to anyone but us - or maybe someone else we approve of. Wonder if there's a way to do a three way trade that ends up with gc having points and a no bid promise, north having the port first rounder, and us having the north future first.

Glad to not be linked to Motlop

It is a little concerning.

But from the 40 players mentioned though, they said 8 would potentially be going to Brisbane and a sprinkling of St Kilda made up the majority of teams mentioned. Now being the half-glass type, I think it's just lazy journalism. St Kilda and Brisbane are the only two teams that have really confirmed FA going to them in TDK and Oscar. So, I think they've just gone "oohhh these guys look they're going to be aggressive during trade period" and off they go.

But yes, if our Trade period pulls only Starcevich. Would be starting to think the club exists for satire purposes only.

A shame to not hear us linked to Reidy, Heath or even Ladhams

Guess we're running it back with Flynn and BWill :(

They have pick 20 and 21 currently, that can form the basis of any move into the top 10. Like all points accumulation trades it will come down to the best off (and promises not to bid with pick 1 and 2).

Yet if we trade in a few players, plenty of posters here would pot the club for not hitting the draft harder and taking on more kids. Yes, Owies has been a bust, but some like Jayden Hunt have proven their worth even if they didn't shift the needle that much on our ladder positions during his time at the club. Cannot win around these parts.

For the record I always think you need the mature bodies to help protect the kids and also assist in development, as long as you don't pay more than trash draft picks or set back the rebuild with large contracts (unless you're a Chad Warner type of true elite player). If we get Starcevich and a couple more fringe players for garbage picks or pick upgrades with Ryan and Allen leaving, I can deal with that.

Yeah but iirc that's no longer a points upgrade on the north pick, and will be less so once fa compos start being handed out.

Really we should be being brutal this year, and letting the suns know that if they accept an offer from another club they better make sure that it's high enough to make up for bids coming at 1 and 2 rather than both being 3+
