Guys we won 1 game this year and 11 from the past 95 or something, why would players want to come here right now? It's not fun playing in shit teams

We'll find it much easier to get people across when we start winning more games.
Of course but not many expecting all Australians to come across.

Probably need mature bodies to start winning. Coin and opportunity should be enough for the right players to come across. Hawks did it well with Chol, Gunstan, Ginni and Mass all in one year and were the perfect role players at gen right price. You’d assume this is the path we will go back it is a wait and see. Not many of these types get talked about on these sort of pods.

The honest answer? Because they can demand and get overs in their contract to entice them over. If they have financial aspirations or they're at an unperforming club which has delusions of where they're at (St Kilda potentially) or perenially underperforming (Carlton) then they might as well get paid and still not play finals.
The outcome is still the same.

Yeah but iirc that's no longer a points upgrade on the north pick, and will be less so once fa compos start being handed out.

Really we should be being brutal this year, and letting the suns know that if they accept an offer from another club they better make sure that it's high enough to make up for bids coming at 1 and 2 rather than both being 3+
Agreed. All I'm saying is that there are plenty of teams, including North, who can put a package together. We need to get on the front foot though as you say, and leverage everything we have.

Gee, a $19 million offer over 11 years for ONE player would be pretty at odds with that "workman-like" midfield you've got, hey Sammy?

To be fair, they'd offer WIll Day $1.8/$2m a year but he pinged a hammy reaching for the pen to sign. Then pulled his groin trying to get a glass of water.

Sam Mitchell being a lying piece of crap? Well knock me over with a feather! Though I don't know why people would take him at his word publicly on anything since he took the time to fly interstate to meet with our captain hours after a Derby and trying to schmooze Harley at Barrass's wedding. Real scumbag type of stuff.

A shame to not hear us linked to Reidy, Heath or even Ladhams

Guess we're running it back with Flynn and BWill :(
According to Mister "trust me I know everything" Hardie we are well into Reidy and he is coming to us and Ryan is set to go to Saints for a F2.

Haven't watched enough Tigers to have an opinion on Blight or Young, but guessing given the Tigers went hard on talls last draft they want to play the kids so these two are casualties.

Whats the knock on him? 196cm's and 23 which is a good age profile.

Think he’s behind a few others at Richmond as a KPD - Miller, Young, Gibcus, Vlaustin and they might look at moving Balta back to defence as well

Given Blight is delisted he becomes a free hit for us and someone we absolutely should be looking at

No idea, didn't really watch much other games this year since West Coast killed my love of the game but maybe they had younger key defenders that they chose to play instead?

Back at home too and couple years younger than young at 23. Young is also out of contract so can be another free hit but I’d rather prefer Blight

Don't think so, I was literally thinking about that a couple days ago, they don't follow each other on IG anymore and both scrubbed any pics of each other off their feeds.

I wonder if that would affect his desire to come here.

He may not have much choice if he wants to stay in the AFL system, I guess.
