Wright on record as saying that HOK isn't tall enough to be #1 ruck in the modern gameSeems like an underwhelming pick up but who knows. We need someone to play ruck in the VFL and as a backup to Pitt.
I know HOK was initially a ruckman we've turned into a forward, I wonder if that's part of his development or we really don't see him as a long term no.1 ruck and we believe forward/2nd ruck is his go.
it's an interesting approach. To gain SOS at 900k and loose Wilkie on much less is a mind bending way of building a list.

When you have KPF's over 200cm these days and with the rules trying to bring the leaping ruckman back in, he's probably right.Wright on record as saying that HOK isn't tall enough to be #1 ruck in the modern game
it's an interesting approach.
TDK comes in at 1.8, Marshall leaves which frees up 900 (?) but also brings a good pick in the door. So they're 900 down, but have a younger player and got a pick.
202cm isn't tall enough these days? Reidy is only 204Wright on record as saying that HOK isn't tall enough to be #1 ruck in the modern game
His numbers in the WAFL says he is at least able to use his size and weight against smaller competition.
I reckon most non-afl ruck types end up in the VFL where you can show your wares against AFL listed types regularly
He sounds very much like a Temu Xerri. Is he a physical ruckman who crashes into people??
I would like a Xerri type or old mummy type. They really help the midfield, as the opposition mids don’t want to go any near them…
I see Reidy as initially a back up for Pittonet. Pitto turns 30 next season and is not a tall ruck, nor an athletic ruck. He has also been injury prone. It is hard to see Pitto going much beyond his current contract (2027) Hopefully we can develop a combination with (hopefully) Riley and Hudson O’Keeffe by then (FR 23, HOK 22) Reidy becomes the journeyman/banker that clubs need.Great that we've pulled in a backup ruck for - I expect - very little spend. Shouldn't cost us more than a token pick.
I still think we need to get either an a) established ruck like Marshall (karma) or b) young gun in Flynn Riley from our program.
In saying this, its far from our greatest need. Speed and ball users. Balance the list first.
Where and when did he say this?Wright on record as saying that HOK isn't tall enough to be #1 ruck in the modern game
He means undersized in terms of weight, not height which is fair copI'm assuming he's referring to this section from a recent interview.

That was my interpretation too.He means undersized in terms of weight, not height.
That I would potentially agree with. He does seem lightly framed for a no.1 ruck, at least at this point. He still has filling out to do imo so that may change. He means undersized in terms of weight, not height.
“This is no failure….I got back at Carlton for my own personal vendetta/satisfaction for dismissing me” - SOSAt $1.8m per year you’re also hoping this guy is top 3, if not the best, in his position for years to come and having material impact on winning games. If he delivers anything less than that, the move is a complete failure.
He'll get there. Still young. That I would potentially agree with. He does seem lightly framed for a no.1 ruck, at least at this point. He still has filling out to do imo so that may change.
