He'll end up every bit as good as Curnow. He's a Queensland boy born and bread. I think it's more likely we'll get king and they'll keep Walter. He's not on the outer, he's still a kid who's got a few in front of him

Serious question, how do you figure we get King? With what trade capital?

#1 priority is keeping Elliott
#2 priority is to sign Frampton long term
#3 ensure we have enough points for our f/s and NGA players
#4 cut the fat from rest of the list

Not really expecting us to bring any players in via trade or free agency to be honest, hopefully a surprise deal comes up.

Theres still the rumour floating that we have landed a 'big fish'...

Who comes to mind?
  • Petracca/Oliver
  • Butters
  • King
At this rate, you'd assume Bobby is more likley gone than staying, and that should either net a First Round Pick or unlock a trade for one of these guys.

Surely Leppa is getting busy following the JSOS news? It's a bit depressing that there's already reports that the Dogs have moved on to Wilkie but there's no equivalent reporting of us. It might only be the Dogs kicking the tyres and I can't see us being able to offer the same cash as the Dogs are reportedly offering but to go into 2026 with Frampton, Reef coming off a knee and Cochran is a bit worrisome.
Frampton is a gun
He is better than any of the other guys that are gettable
Wilkie is contracted

Part of me feels we liked Jack, but also were happy to make another team overpay to perhaps shake someone else we are more interested in loose

The big fish was supposedly Rowell wasn’t it?

Why AJ MK2?
A promising tall forward msd recruit who impressed early on but then flopped.

Howes is a promising tall forward msd recruit who’s impressed early…

You really couldn’t make the connection?

King becomes an unrestricted free agent after the 2026 season, so he is free to move to the club of his choice. After his current contract he would have had 8+ years at the Suns.
The Suns would just get draft pick compensation for him leaving....

I thought it was obvious, but if Sr was doing it on how they play I can see how it was missed.

That's why we'll get him this year

My concern with Howes is his aerial marking. He’s got leaps but lacking the sticky mitts to me so far.

Def has some decent traits though. Seems quick and agile for a tall. Worst case chuck him down back
A bit like Mihocek he has a knack of getting on the end of it at ground level as well.

FWIW one of his strengths whilst playing in the SANFL was supposedly his contested marking.

I would be staggered if he wasn’t a restricted free agent.

I remember reading that was his strength but he’s just lacked a bit aerially to me. Def deserves an extension as there’s lots to work with and only 19. If I was to guess I’d say he’s got more a future as a defender.
