If (big if) he requested a trade, the deal would look something like:Sure mate. Maybe he might come to the Bulldogs, actually hearing from my contacts he is considering the offer, so I may have to change my tune.
What can you offer?
So Wilkie is on $1m already? Why would Wilkie leave St Kilda for an extra $100k lol?
Why would he leave to go to a team that clearly had no interest in him, until they didn’t get the guy they were chasing. You can’t put in one week of work to land a big fish.
It’s like asking the ugly girl to go home with you, because her hot friend rejected you. Reeks of desperation, and Wilkie knows it.
And that doesn’t even go into list position. Bulldogs on the way down, Saints are on the way up. Wilkie will be captain next year and has a very good chance of winning a final as captain.
That won’t happen at the bulldogs

Highlights the difficulty in getting the contracted Ryan and Flanders but states we will just let the contracted Marshall walk for under value. That makes a lot of sense.
Our trade targets are meant to complement, not replace, what we have.
Our midfield/forward structure was our most dangerous in last 10ish years when Ryder and Marshall were both in the side. TDK is set to hugely benefit from the expected changes to the ruck next year where they will allow rucks to have a run and jump at the ball. Wilkie played a lone hand a lot of times throughout the season and you could see his frustration. A healthy Silvagni will improve our defence considerably. Don't care much for Aleer, but if we get him, all the better.
I agree that Windhager is a concern being still un-signed at this point, I still expect that he will re-sign.
I wouldn't be acting as if the Dogs are oh so superior to the Saints given you're watching the finals from the sidelines, just like us.
Said it before, but it's funny listening to Footscray fans bagging out the Saints, thinking you are a power club, given your own history.
You managed your 2nd flag 9 years ago, but otherwise every bit a failure as we have been. Maybe you're too young to know your history and how you came within a bee's dick of being merged because you were a basket case.
Many Saints fans rattled cans to save your club and purchased memberships.
Never forget where you came from.
Pathetic.
Nothing actually has to happen at all considering he has a signed in place already that he has honour , it’s completely up to the club if they want to renegotiate the terms of his contract .Like the other Saints bloke said, has to happen before trade period now. His manager doesn’t let this out unless he wants the Saints to come to the table now.
Didn't hear this from WCE supporters last year on BarrassNothing actually has to happen at all considering he has a signed in place already that he has honour , it’s completely up to the club if they want to renegotiate the terms of his contract .
Thats the point. It would take a completely ridiculous offer for St Kilda to consider the guy who will captain us next year.First, second and a player is massive overs. He is contracted so we’ll have to pay overs, but he’s also 30.
Get real.
Wow! I expected it to be like kindergarten in here, but it seems that was optimistic. It's like chimps at the zoo flinging poo.
Where is the genuine discussion about how a deal could possibly get done? Where are the moderators for that matter? If the posts that are pure trolling were removed there wouldn't be much left.
Not really. If he comes out and says he's pissed with the direction of the club and wants out your value sinks. No one wants to keep a player around that doesn't want to be there.Thats the point. It would take a completely ridiculous offer for St Kilda to consider the guy who will captain us next year.
How can we be in no mans land and a bottom 4 club? Salty much.Play with a bottom 4 club for the rest of your career on (reportedly) 800k a season.
Fair enough, $200k extra per season. So Wilkie is on $1m already?
The offer is $1.1m for 4 years. It is 2 more years at 300k more. He isn't on $1m or even close to it.
Saints are going to have to bump his contract up so you can stop pretending. This is the same situation as WCE had with Barrass except they didn't pony up. I expect Saints to.
Calling Wilkie the "ugly girl" is amusing. Silvagni is a B grader who has played less than 30 games in the last 4 years.
He has said the complete opposite lol? He just had concerns around the club not making a big enough effort to sign Nas, which he had nothing to be concerned about. Not really. If he comes out and says he's pissed with the direction of the club and wants out your value sinks. No one wants to keep a player around that doesn't want to be there.
I will say I think it's media bullshit but you never know.
Theres no certainty to that comment Gold Coast is only going to get better over coming seasons none of the other teams in the top 8 look like dropping off there’s definitely no guarantee of success in going to the dogs , Wilkie is also 29Wilkie joining the Dogs is the final piece of the puzzle for that team IMO. Would instantly vault them to top 4.
Premiership contenders typically make finals matePlay with a bottom 4 club for the rest of your career on (reportedly) 800k a season.
Play with a premiership contender for the rest of your career on (reportedly) 1.1m a season.
Saints probably match the offer and he stays, but that’s half of the point. If they want to spend 30% of their salary cap on B grade footballers, Dogs are just making sure they pay up for their good ones.
Anyone who thinks he wouldn’t at least consider the offer is lying to themselves.
West coast were at the beginning of a rebuild not hoping to contend for finals like us , they were happy to let him go and bring in draft capitalWC didn't have to for Barrass either
He's owed hundreds of thousands more a year just based on what you have offered B and C grade level players.
At this time of year it's crystal clear.A Saints supporter not knowing what a premiership contender is. I’m shocked.
They are likely to lose MarshallI think there's probably about a 10% chance this ends up happening.
That said, there is a reality where it turns out to be a win for St Kilda. If they can turn Wilkie into Flanders, Aleer and potentially a late pick it could round out their list a bit better. Especially if Silvagnis body holds up and Aleer comes on so theres less of an impact defensively.
Backs: Silvagni, Aleer
R: TDK
Forwards: King, Marshall
Wilkie has already said the exact opposition multiple times. So sure hypothetically, if any player did that it would impact their trade value. But that isn't the circumstance here so it's not something being considered when talking about hypothetical trades. Not really. If he comes out and says he's pissed with the direction of the club and wants out your value sinks. No one wants to keep a player around that doesn't want to be there.
I will say I think it's media bullshit but you never know.
Yep.0% chance Wilkie is traded to land Aleer and Flanders lmao
It’s like you guys have not listened to anything the club has said this year. They’re not trading a guy like Wilkie

We won’t need to.Players need to told if they want security they lose flexibility to move.
Hope the Saints say in a polite way, suck it up you are contracted.
)Pretty sure every club plays hard-ball if it's in their interests.Yep.
Other clubs will just hand over their players for peanuts to the Saints though

Wilkie is first picked every week, not simply best 22, is vice captain - and will be captain next year.Yep.
