Our trade targets are meant to complement, not replace, what we have.

They create a fair bit of redundancy though, I’m not sure how that is in dispute.

Our midfield/forward structure was our most dangerous in last 10ish years when Ryder and Marshall were both in the side. TDK is set to hugely benefit from the expected changes to the ruck next year where they will allow rucks to have a run and jump at the ball. Wilkie played a lone hand a lot of times throughout the season and you could see his frustration. A healthy Silvagni will improve our defence considerably. Don't care much for Aleer, but if we get him, all the better.

Theres no certainty to that comment Gold Coast is only going to get better over coming seasons none of the other teams in the top 8 look like dropping off there’s definitely no guarantee of success in going to the dogs , Wilkie is also 29

Saints probably match the offer and he stays, but that’s half of the point. If they want to spend 30% of their salary cap on B grade footballers, Dogs are just making sure they pay up for their good ones.

Anyone who thinks he wouldn’t at least consider the offer is lying to themselves.

Wilkie has already said the exact opposition multiple times. So sure hypothetically, if any player did that it would impact their trade value. But that isn't the circumstance here so it's not something being considered when talking about hypothetical trades.

Wilkie is first picked every week, not simply best 22, is vice captain - and will be captain next year.

Compared to Aleer and Flanders who are fringe players, who can’t break into the best 22.

Not at all comparable. And you’ve also missed that Aleer is out of contract which changes things.

I get that you like your team, but you’ve got your blinkers on in a major way.
