I know we were great 40+ years ago and probably underperformed in the 90s; I also know you guys are just having fun but **** I'd like to be looking forward and talking about us being good now.

You think we WANT to be seeking comfort from the glory days of 40 years ago?

We'd all love to be talking about us being good now!

Incidentally, I'd also love to be 5'11", look like Chris Hemsworth and have my own private race track. But none of that is realistic either...

Those who made the pact to win a premiership together.

The wheels fell off the group last year with all of the delistings and continues with Docherty and Jack leaving.

There are those in that group who have decided to move forward and work harder (Weitering for one) and others who won't.

Boo hoo to the players who are upset that we delisted the 3-10 games a year Jack Martin and Caleb Marchbank. I think those players need to get a grip of themselves and grow up.

As for the players being upset that Jack Silvagni has left, St Kilda are overpaying him. Are the players also upset that we didn’t do all we could to retain TDK? Because he is getting paid close to what Grundy and Gawn are getting paid combined (or Grundy/Xerri, Gawn/Xerri, Jackson/Xerri, Jackson/Grundy, Jackson/Gawn. Basically TDK is getting a dumb contract.

All I ever hear is how upset players on our list are that they are losing their mates to other club (mates that absolutely should be moved on), but I am not hearing what they are going to do about playing better football.

Sorry confused by 5 expected further board change. Do you mean “broad” change or change on the board

And on 4. I interpret stump up or FO is to mean go find an amazing deal or FO manager Charlie is staying at Carlton?
That's how I read #4.

As for #5, I'm sort of thinking that it was broad change... but board change with Fitzy coming on board would be ideal. As president for sure.

I am totally aligned with Wright sticking it to Curnow's management. He is contracted, he has the problem to satisfy us. If Curnow does not want to play next year, & step out that is on him but that is preferable in my mind than a couple of late 1st rounders because the Carlton Football Club needs to send the football world a message
**** the late first rounders. An early first rounder and a 2026 first rounder and a couple of second round picks.

Just expecting it to happen vs working to make it happen!
Bereft of true player leadership.

I remember this whole pact thing when it happened around 2023.

I just can't fathom that it was "we want to win a premiership together as individuals" rather than "we're going to do everything we can to help this club win a premiership no matter what happens".

They wanted to win it on their terms rather than doing everything that was required no matter how difficult it might be.

The sooner we move on from the group of players that are unwilling to let go of this mentality the better.

Was this the pact made at the Ed Curnow firepit/lake/nudie run?

The players/draft picks we want for Curnow reads like a DIYer going to a Bunnings or Sydney tools store …

I want this, I need that, that one would be very useful, can’t believe I don’t have one those etc etc 🙈

If it's anything like me at Bunnings, Carlton will enter negotiations needing just one player.

Hours later they will walk out with 26 players and picks they didn't need.

They'll get back to Ikon Park and as they walk inside they will realise they forgot the one player they actually needed and have to drive back to the negotiating room again...

At least Bunnings has a decent return policy

Be in no doubt, Wright is calling the shots.
IMO, the implode was always coming once the decision to keep Voss was made.
This will either break or make this club, but what can’t occur, is another 5 years in the wilderness.
Let’s hope GW knows what he is doing.
The club was nowhere winning a premiership or even competing for one as is so breaking one way or another is completely acceptable imo.

But you do look like Hemsworth Ferris. No need to be modest about it. 😂

Voss has been much more direct as well. The fluffy and waffle is gone. His interview with King and Kane was the clearest I've heard him talk.

Already seeing the Wright changes. Diplomacy out the window. Carlton First or f off.

You don't encourage or push for accountability by all by skirting around the edges and using buzz words. It's refreshing to see (hear) the change.

He still talked about how we were in the top percentile in most categories except for efficiency inside 50. Referenced injuries to important types. If we persist with the outdated game plan of the last few years we aren't going anywhere.
