Coughing up blood until today, virus gone but throat is still sore.

Had the other one last month, lasted five minutes and was barely noticeable. This one (B, not sure what strain) was a real prick.

Agreed. Its not quite on par with the fku I got in 2010 but its a bad one all the same.

In 2010, I was bedridden for 8 days and lost 9kg. It was the worst dry cough I've ever had, dry reaching dozens of times a day. Fever, headaches all day from excessive coughing etc.

After a week or two of the flu, my eldest literally hasn't been able to walk for two days.

I thought it was all an elaborate ploy for him to skip school and spend the day playing FC25.

But my more trusting partner assured me he wasn't faking it.

Two doctors later, I've learned that this condition, myositis, isn't as rare for kids who get nasty flus I thought it was.

Fortunately seems completely benign and should pass in another day or so.

Wild.

My son is a teacher and went to the GP with a respiratory thing he couldn’t shake, she swabbed him because whooping cough is going around - turned out not to be that but a bit of a wake up all not to just assume things are colds and will go away easily. Also first time I found out the vaccine they got as kids wears off - add to the list of medical things it would be good to learn sooner.
