It wasnt what he did on the day, its obviously something outside the field that upset a number of his team mates - we were flying into that final and stank it up massively.
There happens to be a framed Geelong jumper front and centre in that photo, is that a cryptic message from Jamarra?

I'll join VD on that hill. If all we want is a premiership, will JUH make us better or not. If he does, then the rest of team will eventually get around him. Thats the thing about footy, we all want to win and can forgive most things. Only exception is if JUH did something unforgiveable. I've read most JUH articles and and haven't read anything along those lines. Whether he has done anything unforgiveable thats not reported, no idea.

I fully expect that to be the case. Other than ripping up the contract, he will likely be on the Dogs list next year. No one will trade for him, and if he is picked up, it'll be for lunch money and a couch to sleep on.
A “gap year” is common amongst the youngies nowadays… Let’s just call it Marra’s gap year?.. As for the 8-900k, it’s not out of my pocket so I couldn’t care less!
The “biggie” for me is whether or not the rest of the team will tolerate him back?… Easy to say “we fully support him” etc etc, but if him returning is going to create the slightest disharmony, then forget it!

You mean like Weitering who is universally accepted as one of the best key defenders currently playing.
If we don't pick up a mature KPD, then I'm m on board with at least seeing if Smith has potential there.

We'll do something for multiple new defensive players on our list, even if it's plan E or plan Z or whatever.
There's not even a guarantee that a 33 year old Lobb doesn't fall off a cliff due to his age, much like how Jones basically fell off a cliff he never recovered from form wise (given his age) about 18 games into last season.
Given how often we subbed Buss out, I doubt we want him in our best 22 at this stage. If he improves its a pleasant surprise but he's the weakest player in our theoretical Best 22.

We're surely not comparing Lachie Smith who has basically only ever played ruck his entire life, to Jacob Weitering, surely.

I was replying to the comment that you have to be fast and agile to play key defence - Weitering is a good example that it isnt the case.

That's because Carltons system protect him and doesn't push everyone up the ground. Wouldn't be fair to expect the same output from Weitering if he was playing for us. He will be no quicker than Jones and Lobb chasing people from the overhead ball.

I think so, but I would imagine that isn't a guarantee as we may have to pay out the full amount. If we do, I wonder if it's just better to keep him and roll that dice.

Looks like zero chance of getting Wilkie, North going to throw big $ at Butts, WCE front runners for Tyler Young. Jones delisted and Buku will leave. This leaves a weak defence paper thin leading into trade period so we must have some more targets in mind.
Probably no chance of A grader more likely B or C graders.
