Lachie pushing for recovery is also a captains boost for the team.

I know you've got this so i'll do everything i can to join you after you win the next two games.

Like he said in an interview last night, 'it's a 5-6 week injury. I'm doing everything to get back but if i don't make it I'll be primed for the pre season'.

BTW in not buying the he's going to trade out chat. Those are not the words of someone planning to leave.

You don't see an issue with the coach of the winning team automatically being assumed to have coached better?

Eg. Andrews towelled up Neale last week when we were apparently outcoached

(a)Nup.....if a coach doesn't make the right moves, they don't win. Simples.

(b)....that was last week.

Couldn't possibly pick him if we make the Grand Final. Too risky.

Just watched the game again and holy **** Dunks was immense, even more so than what I thought watching live.

The guy hasn’t had the kudos that some of our other external recruits have had during this successful period like Lachie, Joe, Charlie etc but he’s been every bit as crucial imo. No surprise our best results over this period have come since he’s joined the team.

Not the most skilful, but just a real pro who I reckon others would feel far more confident playing with when he’s next to them.

It would be hilarious if that’s what they’ve done. I wouldn’t write it off.

Had one of the stats guys sit next to me once. He said they are all mathematicians. Total nerd out (which i love). Nothing is to trivial to be discussed, considered and included.

Nah, it was only low pressure in the final quarter because the game was gone…it was a cracker first half and then GC caved under out relentless pressure in the third
GC had their pressure ratings in the 200+ range for all of the first half at least. Only dropped off at the end of the third and last quarters. But they were going hard before that

We did an experiment with geography students to test the accuracy of Google earth’s scaling. It is randomly inconsistent at closer ranges that rely on aerial surveys rather than satellite data.

In any case, to quote the great western The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance…

When the legend becomes fact, print the legend”.

He supposedly has already rejected the Eagles.
EAGLES’ BOLD MID-SEASON PLAY FOR NEALE

West Coast reportedly made a bold play for Lions star co-captain Lachie Neale earlier this year — an approach the dual Brownlow medallist turned down.

Neale in 2021 was a linked with a move back to Western Australian via Fremantle, where he started his career, before starting put at the Lions and helping lead the club to the 2024 premiership.

And according to 9 News Perth, the Eagles had a crack at luring the 32-year old, who’s originally from South Australia, back to Perth around mid-season.

“It can be revealed that the Eagles already inquired about his services,” reporter Paddy Sweeney said.

“In a bid to add experience and leadership, West Coast asked the question mid-season if the Brisbane co-captain would entertain a move back to WA — an advance which the 32-year-old turned down.
Neale, who’s set to miss the rest of the finals series with a calf issue, is contracted at Brisbane until the end of 2026.

It’s a fun replay to watch.

Suns took the “All Gas, No Brakes” mantra too literally I think, because they just refused to put the defensive brakes on in the midfield.

Team defence wins finals.

You are trying (sort of rightly) to spoil a feel-good story, but i persist none the less.

The Gabba is apparently 156 meters goal line to goal line so 78 meters from the Centre square.
I will now argue the ball continued to bounce to the fence and would have gone further not for that darn fence.
Further to my argument i put this weird, angled image just 2 Rayner strides past the center line (i did not count but that's neither here nor there)
Not a doubt it is 80 meters, 85 meters is a stretch, but champion data have their own line thingy like yours.
Also, the ball goes up and down then bounces so maybe it is 90 meters that's even a better story.

The kick will go down in history.
If only Rayner kicked it on his preferred left foot
