Also, what does a fantastic offer from WCE look like - what high quality players and picks could they offer swuzzle?
This was really a hypothetical about whether Charlie would go anywhere to get away from us or only wants to go to his preferred clubs.

But seeing you asked, just picks from them although I'd ask about McCarthy.

P2, P19 & F1

We can use those to trade for some quality this year and also have Cody locked away for next year, potentially also getting Cochrane.
Whilst we could try for Butters with those I would rather spread it around and address multiple needs.

That it will be last minute

I could imagine a situation where we use any draft picks to trade for a player etc which may take time

Yeah, so that can still happen, it'll just be a 3 way trade. It won't be done last minute, but it won't be revealed until then, they want to milk trade period as much as they can.

Absolutely no chance he plays for West Coast.
If he can't stand the "fish bowl" of Melbourne then he won't like the 2 team city of Perth.

He's also rumoured to be unhappy with Carlton having a bad year, so you really think he'll play for West Coast?

It'll be GC or Sydney. Don't care which.
If he doesn't get traded and he's prepared to put in the effort again then I'm more than happy to support him next year, but staying doesn't seem likely.

If Charlie doesn’t get his wish and has to stay with us I doubt he has IT in him to knuckle down and perform like Gibbs did
I hope he proves me wrong …
I just don’t want someone here if their heart isn’t in it … And would go against everything GW looks like he’s trying to create here..

If he has any brains, he would endeavour to be at his very best so that other clubs do want to trade him in...

You think Adelaide would have wanted to give 2 first rounders if Gibbs sooked it up? No chance, and he'd have stayed at Carlton.

They were my faves....followed very closely by Glugs and Razzes.

And how good was it when you opened it up and you got a 'free' 😍
I'd totally forgotten about that!! Gotta love the bonus free wins back in the day.
Take 50cents to the shop, a Sunny Boy and a few packs of Footy cards (with chewing gum!) and off I went.
What a simple life. I kinda miss it.

Interesting to see if GC do make a play.

Obviously Walter not deemed best 22 as of last night. Read has attributes, but a non factor in both finals...looks more than 12 months away from impacting.

Some key players in Witts, Miller, Collins the wrong side of 30

Hardwicks comments post game have given me some thought around Curnow.. previously I thought no way they're interested, but talking about improving the list via acquisitions was interesting.

I'm not really sure how they get the deal done tbph, only realistic avenue I see is Walter really, and then some, but I'm not sure what the "some" is. They can't trade too many draft picks with 2 top 5 picks coming in and I doubt they're looking to trade players of worth given where they're at right now. The likes of Florini, Flanders and Walter doesn't do it for me.

Thing with Read is, I dont think he's a long term forward. He was a ruck all through juniors. I think he's mostly playing forward right now to continue development, but in 5 yrs time when his man body develops and Witts is long gone he'll be a ruckman.

Walters + F1 I'd take.

A Charlie trade to GC could be a win for both teams based on list profiles.

Harry and Charlie are both the same age, so we’re likely going to have to replace two key forwards in 3-4 years time. GC have Read and Walters from the same draft, but after last night would be thinking that an experienced, prime aged key forward might be required to compete go that bit further in September.

Charlie for Walters (plus whatever picks change hands to square the trade) would give GC a boost now without mortgaging the future. Walters can develop as number two and will be prime age when H retires. Even Ben king would help reset our list profiles in a good way.

I think Ned Moyle will be witts’s replacement

Yes he does. Winning is infectious

Spot on. This whole "we'll only trade Charlie for an established star" is just bravado from the club. Which is what they should be doing, you don't want to leave any inkling of doubt that it's going to take a lot to convince us to trade him.

But realistically, we are a few years away from finals. Charlie will be either retiring or past it by then.

Walters + F1 with maybe an F3 going back their way makes perfect sense for both clubs. We need to build toward the future and the Suns can't wait 3-5 years for Walters to see if he'll reach his potential.

That F1 will be super handy for us come 2026 off season. Gives us decent trade capital for a good player or we take it to a strong draft. Suns aren't going to let go of any 1st rounders this year.

Pretty casual and not a lot of thought goes into 'What Charlie Wants' I don't reckon.

With their trading history, I’d be expecting them to pay a lot more than that for an established star KPF.

Even aside from the Jack Bowes trade, they just gave up pick 6 and 23 last year for Daniel Rioli.
