I firmly believe that Clark was only in the 23 because of brisbanes midfield depth. We were very worried (rightly so) that if we lost a mid early that we would get torched by weight of numbers in brisbanes midfield. Thus Clark was a necessary emergency plan.

Hawthorn don’t have the depth in midfield that Brisbane do (did?). I don’t expect Clark to stay in the 23.

The big question is how do we lineup if Stanley is fit. But that seems unlikely.

They will play ginnivan but he will be playing injured.

If we can't beat the Hawks after they've travelled two weeks in a row + don't have Day, then we just aren't good enough.

Chols played 1 less game. Thats incorrect.

Either way.. stats are almost identical. There is nothing in it. Theyre probably the best and most closest fwd comparison in the comp seeing they are marking talls who pinch hit.

Neale was terrible for the first half of the year. His last 3 months have been very good. Both are serviceable players

Agree, Hawks’ only real negating type player is Connor Nash and he isn’t really suited to Bailey Smith or Max Holmes. Not sure where he goes after them two.

I think Nash is suited to blocking out a Mullin at stoppage getting Newcombe away though. He's the kind that can just put body on someone and that someone has to go around him

I don't know that moving Newcombe forward would be my choice, I think Mullin has played d50 more than Newk has f50. If they do move Newcombe forward i think we'd have basically already won
