Or they bid because they last thing they want is a massive outcry about Carlton getting a top 10 draftee for a couple of picks in the 20s. Us paying up for Dean might mean the AFL are less inclined to pull some bullshit change out their arse next year.
Zero hanger is suggesting his draft range is 5-15. If we get pick 6, we just burn it on Dean if a bid comes in at 5. If the bid comes after that, but before 10, we’re probably using the TDK compo to cover it. 10-20 range bids we’re using the JSOS compo. If there’s no bid by the JSOS compo, I can see us doing a live trade for a couple of picks in the 20s and early 30s and taking Dean there.Depends on exactly where but with Essendon having multiple picks there it's in their hands. Most likely they'd use the one before (5) which would mean we'd get a little change from 6
Wonder if North will come for it, to get back into the first roundCal Twomey also reporting that compo pick for TDK, we have told clubs it’s for sale for either to push back for multiple picks or picks next year for Cody.
Chesser better than many here give him credit for...

The bold surgery call that got this 'gifted' Eagle back on track
Despite being able to play through the issue, Campbell Chesser opted to go under the knife to give himself a chance to play at his bestwww.afl.com.au
For a couple of years, I wouldn’t mind it because he’d be a good mentor for Moir and Kemp who have both shown good signs up front but need that extra polish.Fritch to the Blues rumour gaining legs around the traps
Future first wouldn’t be unprecedented and would take it in a heartbeat.Wonder if North will come for it, to get back into the first round
Solid looking lad as well.He could be the steal of this trade period.
Easily an upgrade on any winger we have and has the size to go into the midfield.
Had a meniscus tear in his draft year early in the season or would have been top 10 (top 5 in some peoples eyes).
Has the running capacity of Ollie, but unlike Ollie is a beautiful kick, strong overhead, has genuine speed and class.
TDK compo for North future would be perfect IF we didn't go down the Charlie route. Hell, even if we did.Future first wouldn’t be unprecedented and would take it in a heartbeat.
Would just need to find a way to make sure we have points coverage for Dean through other trades (likely Curnow).
Cal said the talk of a lockout has cooled.Which absolutely already means that clubs know there won’t be any FS lockout in the draft.

I reckon that would've been around the time that GW mentioned O'Farrell's name.Cal said the talk of a lockout as cooled.

Never were, at best, we would have offered a VFL spot with him returning.Blues not interested in Petruccele - Cal Twomey
Would definitely improve hair grooming at Carlton.Fritsch to the Blues rumour gaining legs around the traps
Watch the Hawks.
If we're really trying to stockpile first round picks for next year and Hawthorn want to salary dump CJ & are desperate on Merrett then it could be as simple as:
Hawthorn give us back our 2025' R2 pick + their 2026' R1 pick & CJ in exchange for the TDK compo pick & our current 2025' R2 (tied to Brisbane).
Hawthorn then on trade their 2025 R1 (tied to us) & the TDK compo pick to Essendon for Merrett.
Bombers effectively get 2 x Top 10 picks for Merrett.
Hawks get Merrett & our 2025 R2 (tied to Brisbane).
Blues get CJ + Hawks 2025' R2 (tied to us) & 2026' R1.
Not happening.Fritch to the Blues rumour gaining legs around the traps
