This is the big one Goose

Pat your Selwood Bobblehead, Rub Tommy Hawkins Tummy on his, replay Chappy's Rd 5 2007 speech, put on THAT Cats hat, scarf or jumper.
Turn that song on extra loud for the drive in - do whatever the **** it is you do to get ready for a Cats game - because its here.
Watch that youtube clip of GAS in 89, send someone a text about being nervous but ready.....

There is a legacy in these games to be created - and it wont be just one moment that defines it.. it will be many. And thats what we do - we have people in roles to play their game to create a winning legacy tongight.

We are playing the Hawks in a game that matters and its go time.

It simple.

Our best is better than their best. That is not a slight on them. Its respectfully the truth right now.

Keep your feet - go harder and lower than they do. Take you chances when the arrive and dont think.. just do.. You will get beaten at a contest, thats ok... halve the next one... but the one after make it yours and build on that winning streak the rest of the night.

But we need 2 more wins.

Prelims are the fans GF - its the noise, the intensity... that first roar at the first bounce ( you know the one that Stanley wont be at lol)

Its time for our best to better their best. Like in the Voldemort GF we were favourites but we were cocky. Not now... this is a different time and differnt bunch. We have no best record behind us - we have a spread of experiance and youth and a game plan that works.

They will come and come hard - Mitchell wont have it any other way - and im sure they watched part of 08.

Let them come. We are ready. We need two more wins and its happening tonight.

This game is not for milestones... its for winning. So forget the accolades and GET IT DONE. Play the team game

Get around them and support the hoops.
Remind these pricks why we are the Greatest Team of All.

This was fun a fortnight ago - in a way the nerves settled but also helped get pumped for the game

Join us as we March to the 'G once again on Friday night.

Presented by Gatorade, Geelong's March to the 'G will depart Federation Square at 6.00pm AEST on Friday night, with a swarm of Cats supporters to descend on the MCG ahead of our blockbuster Preliminary Final against Hawthorn.

Led by the Cats marching band, Geelong fans will follow the Yarra River and arrive at the home of football in time for the game.

A 10s vid  for all those fretting, anxious & on a diet of fingernails today. Big smile y'all 😸. It is in the lap of Gods now. The Cats are as well prepared as can be.

I expect the Cats will bring it home after a testy first 10 mins.

and for those looking for some nostalgia from the same ground as tonight...

Why did it have to be Hawthorn? If I'm this nervous I'd hate to think how the players are feeling.
Players will be fine. It’s what they do. They’ll take the nervous energy and hopefully turn it in to a positive performance. It’s us supporters who have no way of impacting the result that feel it the worst. We have no control over the game. We have to sit back and watch and hope. Let’s just hope the boys get it done…. Is it too early to start calming the nerves with some beers???

They'll be fine, they at least get to dictate the result. The nerves leave you in most of those instances.

It's us plebs who will be drinking by 4pm to calm things down, and acting in ways that would probably get us fired if they were caught on film for two hours tonight.

All we can do is trust them, they at least can do something about it.

Cats by 30+, everything that we do well or better than anyone else is countered by the hawks being very mid table at it, or defending it.
So our ball movement and ability to score in transition is the best in the comp by a fair margin, hawks are midtable to low table in defending both, massive tick.
Where we don't do as well is defending transition (but we were elite in the QF at it), which could be exploited, however hawks again aren't very impactful in transition, so it's not a big issue for us there.
We run a very mobile, movement based forwardline, the hawks prefer static setups and can, and have, failed when needing to cover ground, particularly if you push their defenders up the ground and toward the wings.

I simply don't see how the hawks get close, assuming we play somewhere close to our best footy.

Media gone into shrieking overdrive, Sinning Scott and Tammydumper- Bailey Gate 4. Everywhere ya look.

Tonight, none of that will matter, we'll shut down these pretenders and start down the aisle to the BIG DANCE.

GO THE IRISH. GO CATS!

Was too nervous sitting at home, so opted to jump on a slightly earlier train today - not the only one in footy colours, especially blue and white

So not sure it was a good idea to keep this train as only 3 carriages as it'll fill up very quickly
