Was the stadium proposal in any of the parties manifesto at the last election?
Both Liberal and Labor leaders are outspoken in support of the stadium. Its not a secret.

But was it in there written manifesto? Both Liberal and Labor leaders are outspoken in support of the stadium. Its not a secret.
Do you honestly think what is or isn't in a written manifesto (even if that is a thing for yet another Tasmanian election in such a short period of time, I haven't bothered checking) matters more to the policies that people are voting on than things such as interviews, press conferences, soundbites in TV news, headlines in newspapers, all of which was clear about how both majors supported the stadium? But was it in there written manifesto?

Good to see they are re committing. Wonders if we have the numbers in the upper house.labor re-committing a big plus. had they not, the stadium and a team would have been history.

He does seem very genuine when he speaks about it.My sources within the Labor Party tell me Willie pushed hard to back the stadium. He is a believer.
I think this is becoming a genuine concern. This is now becoming one of the driving forces around getting stadium built. It's being singled out when there are any interviews with the two main parties - especially with Willie lately.Speaking to one of the Labor candidates before the election, the fear of what this will do to investor and business confidence is a genuine one is my impression. I would've thought a lot of that damage is already done, but if this all falls over we'll be a laughing stock and who in their right mind would want to try and start any major development down here.
There was nothing in the TPC report that said it couldn't be built there. Nor has there been anywhere else.I think one of the big concerns going forward is the belief that stadium can not be built on the proposed location. They also they have serious contamination concerns and we could end up not been able to build there for these reasons. I think the government needs to come out and tell the truth on if it really can be built there or not, because all this debate is pointless if it can't even be built there.
The TPC report said it was too big and a Hobart Architect also said the same thing. I'm a supporter, but so many questions are unknown about the deal, so I think it's no surprise soo many are opposed to it.There was nothing in the TPC report that said it couldn't be built there. Any suggestion that the stadium can't be built at Mac Point is just scaremongering.

And other Hobart architects said the opposite. The TPC report said it was too big and a Hobart Architect also said the same thing. I'm a supporter, but so many questions are unknown about the deal, so I think it's no surprise soo many are opposed to it.

There is nothing unknown about it, the investigations have been done. There's been plenty of infrastructure built on much more contaminated and much more challenging ground conditions. The TPC report said it was too big and a Hobart Architect also said the same thing. The stadium is going to stand out like dogs balls in relation to all the existing architecture in the surrounding precinct,in other cities the highrise diguises these behemoth. The lack of a concrete jungle and combination of heritage buildings is what I love about Hobart. It's not my home, I'm just a frequent interstate visitor who fully supports the Devil's and believe the AFL are making out like gangsters in this arrangement. The TPC didnt say the stadium was too big, it said the precinct around it wouldnt be big enough for the exterior held events it anticipates, so no Fed Sq type shenanigans.
