I am only writing in the context of winning premierships, that is all I care about

I’d say offering a six-year contract was neglecting proper due diligence!

I think it speaks more to their desperation than due diligence. We all knew, even without the list manager budget of an afl team, that he was a head knock away. They just were hoping for a cheap best 22 player.
