Brisbane has GEARS and in the last 5 minutes of the third quarter we hit OVERDRIVE and Geelong just could not cope. I’ve been closely following football for well over 50 years and I’ve got the Zorko loose ball intercept, handball to Neale and Neale goal, in my top handful of football moments that I have witnessed.

So with about 15 years to go in Levi’s career, that would predict a run of 17 flags. I’m comfortable with the run ending in about 2040.Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, but we've never lost a Grand Final with an Ashcroft playing. Marcus retired after 03, Will injured in 23. Unbeaten in the rest of them.
Unlikely both will be injured if we're back there in 12 months to complete the three peat against Hawthorn.Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, but we've never lost a Grand Final with an Ashcroft playing. Marcus retired after 03, Will injured in 23. Unbeaten in the rest of them.

Watched the Sunday Footy show , got the impression that our players are not enamoured of that panel.Harris and Lachie particularly stone faced. The female reporterLions fan was much better. .
They were pretty out of it that day. When they arrived into Brissie yesterday evening, they didn't even stay long at Springfield for the fan meet and greet and i heard a lot of people missed out on autographs and weren't even allowed to talk to them. Of course they were exhuasted and they were probably up all night after the Grand final, but in retrospect, having a fan meetup in Melbourne and Brisbane in the exact same day was a terrible idea.Watched the Sunday Footy show , got the impression that our players are not enamoured of that panel.Harris and Lachie particularly stone faced. The female reporterLions fan was much better. .
Yeah was very rushed in the end. A lot of kids crying they waited a long time and singing time only 20 minutes. Best to have set up another date but could see why making it a ticketed entry and on the back of the women's team playing. They were pretty out of it that day. Bloke was HUGE.I hope Libby is marking my son’s VCE exams in the next couple of months! The Age player ratings. Libby Birch maybe being a touch over generous with some of our guys- 4 x 10s and 6 x 9s- perhaps over correcting from last year when she was brutal when rating the Sydney players.

They seemed to be at Brunswick Street for longer last year too (they presented the cup at the stage near the cricket nets and in the stand).Yeah was very rushed in the end. In the days since the GF, a lot of narrative I've read and heard on radio and TV is that most of our players all deserve massive increases in their pay and that surely we can't keep them all, with the general position being that our list should be dismantled because it isn't fair.
This seems to be a common position when any team dominates across a number of years and the Vic media become more unhinged when it involves the four northern clubs and the hysteria begins.
I think what a lot of these footy pundits forget, clearly to their chagrin, is that a lot of players, not all, are happy to accept less, knowing they could get way more, in order to be a part of something special and sustained success, which is clearly getting under said footy pundits because they're already wanting our downfall.
Daly even said this morning that they're a lot of players who have taken less money to stay here because they're so brought into the culture and the success that comes from it. However, he did acknowledge that we will lose a few players during the next couple of years because you can't convince everyone to take a paycut to stay here. You only have to look at Ah chee and Starce to recognise that as well.In the days since the GF, a lot of narrative I've read and heard on radio and TV is that most of our players all deserve massive increases in their pay and that surely we can't keep them all, with the general position being that our list should be dismantled because it isn't fair.

Somewhat more worryingly, haven't won a senior men's premiership since ww2 without an Ashcroft.Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, but we've never lost a Grand Final with an Ashcroft playing. Marcus retired after 03, Will injured in 23. Unbeaten in the rest of them.
The Fitzroy one was pretty good, got Wilmot, Gardiner, Bruce, Starce and Will but yeah I think it had been a long night. Tricky to schedule though as I assume a bunch of them have well-earned holidays coming up.Yeah was very rushed in the end. Do we need any more evidence that “sovereign citizens” are nut jobs.
We won’t be able to hold everyone. Already Ah Chee and possibly Starce. Regardless, it’s healthy for the list to have some turnover - but better if players depart by their own choice. The above 25 age crew will easily buy in. I'd draw the line up to McCluggage, Berry, Rayner level. Hope Bailey joins them too.
Below 25 - how many of this group will buy in will end up defining our sustained success period. Fletcher is in already up to 2030. Let's see what happens with Morris, Lohmann, Ashcroft/s, Marshall, Wilmot and even Gallop.
