The worst thing is was when it was covid and the people who cancelled there membership, were allowed to go back again when they chose to cancel
very few organisations were silly enough to forgo their most loyal customers during that time.

No I actually meant when did club support as a whole start with AFL members? Appears the answer was 1992.I think they mean when did club support get first dibs on GF tickets, not club support as a whole.
Someone posted here that it started in 2002.
You can still pick the "competition" option which is a membership with no club support. No I actually meant when did club support as a whole start with AFL members? Appears the answer was 1992.
I don't know if they still have this option, but back in the day you could choose the AFL support package as opposed to a specific club attached to AFL membership. Not sure why you would choose this option given you would not have first dibs for GF tickets.
I had that when I was in Canberra. When you live outside of Melbourne, you get a discount as a "country member". If you didn't have a club support you got a bigger discount. Now that I am in Brisbane, I have a Lions Club support (been handy having it in 2024/25) and that is a discount on what people in Melbourne pay, but not as much as if you are a competition member. The flip side is you get access to the Lions home games at the Gabba. You can still pick the "competition" option which is a membership with no club support.

2010 was a bad time to sign up. If you had signed up in 2008, it probably would have been a 7 year wait.
The three Collingwood GFs in 2010/11 meant a lot of people jumped on board and as you can see that changed the membership forever.
Same here. I was told 3 to 5 years and I became a Full member in my 4th year in 1997.In contrast, I signed up for the 1994 season and went to the 1997 Grand Final as a Full (it wasn't called Gold / Silver - it was called Full / Restricted) member.
Incredible. Now its closer to 40 yearsSame here. I was told 3 to 5 years and I became a Full member in my 4th year in 1997.
Ok thanks for confirming. You can still pick the "competition" option which is a membership with no club support.
In 92 i picked general rather than melbourne .the next year I changed to melb club support . Back then melb and rich supporters had great value as we played at least 11? Home games at the G . The grand final was a guaranteed seat free. It walkup only? When others teams like collingwood moved to mcg , thats when it got tougher .No I actually meant when did club support as a whole start with AFL members? Appears the answer was 1992.

I checked today, the numbers haven't been updated since last year. Are those waitlists numbers recent or from the start of the year/late last year
$30 last year to $44 this year is a pretty hefty increase.Cricket tickets went on sale today. Managed to get Level 2 seats for Boxing day.
i couldn't even get level 2, managed level 1 undercover though so that'll do. watch the weather be mild and it not matterCricket tickets went on sale today. Managed to get Level 2 seats for Boxing day.
oh crap I forgotSame, level 1 for Day 1, and level 2 for Day 3.
They were $30 in 2021, 50% increase over 4 years is a bit much.oh crap I forgot
How much were your tickets? They are coming up at $44 each for me which seems pricier than last year
You are too kind. It is over 1 year as it was $30 last year. They were $30 in 2021, 50% increase over 4 years is a bit much.
F reserve day 2 is $44 so the same price but AFL reserve is much better viewingStill a hell of a lot cheaper than public where you can pay $88 to sit at the top of level 4!
Out in the open so it’ll probably be 45 degrees on Boxing Day!
What do you mean by F reserve?F reserve day 2 is $44 so the same price but AFL reserve is much better viewing
I see. The cheap seats. Interesting, maybe they set the AFL reserve price to match the cheapest seats. Which might explain why there is no AFL allocation on level 4, there would be no point. And indeed it could see the price go down next year.View attachment 2447800
If you can get seats in the first few rows it might not be too bad viewing
