Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Anyone see the interview with Ryan Burton from Port Adelaide. Ex actually.

He was reaching out to clubs. Mentioned his mgr reached out to Carlton, but he himself hadnt spoken to Michael Voss.

He has a lot of respect for Chris Davies who he feels was very honest with him when he got delisted.

Surely if we don't keep Guv, Burton a very good fit...

How are you measuring this if not on wins and losses though?

Can this be genuinely measured putting the W-L column aside?

You can but I’m a firm believer if the team can get on the same page, then the wins will come naturally next year.

As an example, Richmond didn’t win many games but watching them this year applying their trade, they have hit their KPI’s. StKilda is another, fell short but their application and desire for the contest can’t be questioned. Both knew what was required and how to deliver it but both didn’t have the resources to progress.

Can’t say the same for some others who didn’t play finals.

florent would fit straight into our best 23.

2x first rounders plus whatever we get for Tdk/Jsos should be more than enough to secure F/Ss coming in this and next year.

If it’s genuine I hope we get the deal done sooner rather later so we can focus on other players/spots in areas of need.

But there are first rounders and here are FIRST rounders.

Honestly, depending on if and who we we get back for the Charlie trade, I think we should consider both Burton and Finlayson. Structure wise, they cover what we lost with Charlie and Jack and provide experience in those positions.

For example if we got back 2 firsts and Haywood for Charlie, Finlayson would be a decent player to fill Charlies role.

I've always liked Burton. Think he could fit in nicely. His issue has always been injuries. That would be my only concern.

I think our minds are fixated on getting a star in return for losing Charlie, but we have genuine star power in abundance with this squad already imo.

You get 2 firsts, I'd be pushing for Hayward but if not possible Florent and Campbell.

They're "role players" that are imo being played out of position at Sydney and could absolutely become top 10-20 players at our club.

We have to think bigger picture here, I think this rumoured Sydney deal absolutely gets done.

I just don’t see Graham Wright accepting picks 9, future first and some fringe players like Florent, Rowbottom or Campbell for Charlie. I think that would be a horrible deal for us.
