• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

. Both really good/solid role players that successful side have. Unfortunately neither of them are end of first round material and dare I say Will probably has more merit for a higher pick as clubs have always been wanting key backs.

As players go I’d put starcevich in the same vein as Graham last year

I do find that hard to believe though

Starce has more concussion issues than Clarry Olivers had all-nighters

Get him for free with an appropriately structured contract, ok we can live with that.

But to cough up a first round pick for nothing is just laughable

Expect better from a club that has lost two legendary defenders in Gov and Shep and a promising young midfielder in Venables to the same curse that Starce unfortunately suffers from.

'This bloke with 4 concussions in 18 months one of which almost ended his career is the same as any other player'

The pick will likely end up mid 20's which probably shouldn't be tossed away without care.

We do not understand the AFL provisos that are not public. Reality, Cal Twomey has been talking the Starcevich line for a week. The AFL use him as a way of breaking bad news.

Anyway, I suggest we all wait, take a Bex and lie down (if that is your era) and see what happens.

Yes the end of R1 which will be around pick 28 seems too high but marginally.

Do yourself and your loved ones a favour. Shake it off, relax and wait until we see where we are come Christmas.

Oh and if we have drafted Duursma, CDT and some random hbf in the draft, I will retract my calmness and possibly join that day trading plonker with placards at preseason training!!!

He could win the Brownlow every year for the rest of his career and it still wouldn’t change the fact that we shouldn’t have paid a 1R pick for a player that to every other club would have got them nothing if Twomey’s reporting is correct.

Has everyone just forgotten he's a restricted Free Agent & Brisbane have the right to match & force a trade. Even if getting Starc didn't dilute pick 2 it's still not taking away Brisbane right to do that.

Even if he was going to another club they would still match and force a trade meaning they would get something.

They’ve got the rest of a premiership side to keep together (bar Ah Chee) and they’re bringing in Allen and Draper, surely they can’t afford to match our ridiculous offer.

A couple things to consider.

1. Twomey is saying the end of round pick will be used for Starcevich but how does he know? Pyke the other day said we were looking to potentially use it to trade up the draft. My point is it might be used for Starcevich but we might be getting other pieces back as well such as a pick to use for Young and Dev. Let’s not melt just yet and wait to see what happens.

2. The Lions could have said we’ll make sure to trigger band 1 for Allen but you have to look after us for Starcevich. If someone said to you a month back. Lions will trigger band 1 for Allen and the AFL will give you a pick but you need to use it for Starcevich in return you wouldn’t take it?

3. There does seem to be some funny buggers going on. First we get word Allen Free agency might not be lodged tomorrow and now tonight at the B&F it’s Fagan who announces Starcevich is leaving. Meanwhile it’s reported we are looking into Starcevichs incident on the weekend. There could be quite a few games of mental chess being played between the Lions and Eagles at the moment.

4. At no point so far has Clarke, Pyke or Woosha said what we value Starcevich at or what we’d trade for him or any stupid shit. I’d have to assume they learned a lot from their first off season last year and won’t make the same mistakes again.

Let’s just sit back and appreciate for a brief moment we’ve managed to secure three new players for the club because a few days ago it was looking grim.

I just find it astounding, absolutely absurd, that after just losing 4 players to concussion, with McGovern only being months ago... Out of all the players in the AFL, we've honed in on Starcevich.

Like WTAF. Firstly, how about we "offer up" a chode and pick 52 to start?

We can then move onto pick 34 with no Anabelle bid. Before finally finally getting bent over and settling on pick 20 (after our pick 19).

Imagine skipping all of that and "offering up" pick 19 without even a modicum of playing hardball or negotiating anything. Hasn't happened yet but deary me that one would be talked about on this board for years.

Clarke has form doing exactly this is what’s worrying.

“Yeah somewhere around pick 14 for Baker” a week before the trade went down.

Half my borderline melt posts are me trying to make an effort/trying to feel some emotions regarding this club. The last few years have desensitised me. Watching games is like a chore and only good thing it does is for my heart and blood pressure
