2025 AFL Draft and Trade Dates:

Fri Oct 3 - Fri Oct 10: 2025 Free Agency Period
Mon Oct 6 - Wed Oct 15: 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period
Wed Nov 19 - Thu Nov 20: 2025 Telstra AFL Draft

Got to do something.

Stanley is broken, Blitz doesn't have a lot left, SDK isn't physical enough, and we want Neale to hone his forward craft.
I’ll say it, though it’s entirely pessimistic, if we don’t have a ruck in this trade period and have to rely on a hodge podge of players to cover for Stanley, is extremely poor list management.

Especially given we’ve pushed out the same story for the past 2 seasons that Conway will take over. For the last few months we’d have known his potential to play is in lottery terms.

I said at the time that we should have somehow done something to make them give us pick 5 instead of pick 7 with that Bowes/7 trade.... Would have drafted him.
Yeah... the same. I rate him highly!

Injuries can turn list managers into the unemployed.

That's going to go well, imagine after the 06 review we decided to dump assorted admin duties and managing the public cafeteria onto Thompson's plate.

At least he'll 110% own everything that happens from this point on

Reading a few of the comments in reply to the tweet they're very scathing of St Kilda for going down this same path, AGAIN

Seems this is the same move Lyons made when he was last at St Kilda before he upped & left for Fremantle, leaving things in bit of a mess - fans want to know why he's been permitted to pull the same move again

Mason Cox 2026 Geelong ruckman. Come on down

Who would you chase if we can't land Marshall, though?

He's a top 3 ruck in the league, remember 😉

Curnow. Neale into the ruck, Blicavs to back-up. or, pluck a state league ruck... Brisbane have Mcinerney and Fort who are hardly world beaters...

Realistically that’s the only option if Marshall is unavailable. That’s also if Carlton accept what we have.

Agree that a state league ruck could be an option but fitness would be a concern. A long way back in both talent and fitness.

Though, I’d be wary of Carlton in option 1 trying for anything in next year’s draft. Doing so means we are unlikely for Butters.

I'd say OHenry, this years first and next years second seems reasonable when compared to other trades we've made for stars like Danger and Cameron.

Looking at the delist market for a ruckman, it is pretty slim

When guys like Tom Campbell are getting a contract aged 33 it is a tight market

Kieran Strachan
Brynn Teakle
Harry Boyd
Callum Jamieson

But when something is free

So you’d piss off Jack by trading his brother who only just signed with the club a few years ago?

It's a hole in our list for sure.

Surely they have several targets, or have they put all their chips in on Marshall?

Surely the only way Ollie is traded is if Ollie is the one looking to move to 3rd club - I know he struggled this year, but I want to see some desperation & want from him over summer and into the next year's of his career

For the back to back Coleman version of Curnow Yes I wouldn’t care who was pissed off. For this version, I don’t know.
Even if that meant if pissing off the older brother who then opts to look at where his future is at and if it's really at the club

I think the thing that is free is blitz with chop outs from SDK and Neale.

Once blitz body inevitably breaks down SDK can ruck with Kolo back

Not ideal but better than anything on that list

Is it just me being too focussed on how the midfield performed in the GF, but seriously, keeping the same midfield and adding worpol and bruin is NOT going to fix that full surrender we got. Unless there is genuine improvement in there (for example Humphries continuing his incredible growth and kicking into the midfield), we will have a solid home and away midfield and a crap finals one - the prelim was basically Dangers full effort more than anything else, and when he didn’t fire a shot in the GF, we were exposed. While I’m at it - if I hear one more positive arguement on flexibility of players I’ll spew up. Where was that felxibiliy when we were getting slaughtered at attacking the ball in the GF? Where was the throwing around the magnets in the hope of getting back in the game? If they were there, none of them worked, underlining that our whole coaching panel had a shocker as well, from selection night through to the end.
Adelaide, Gold Coast, Hawks and GWS all seem to be focussed on adding high end talent to their midfields this offseason - I just feel all this attention around worpol, bruin, etc is masking our slide down the midfield pecking order as shown in the GF.
