While this is damaging to the pshyche, its still infinitely better than huffing trade radio for days on end.I just checked in on this thread and it has moved on about 25 pages in two days (approx 500 posts).
Apart from Wilkie turning us down and Budarick requesting a trade to us have I missed anything of importance/substance?

well yeah, but JUH was a free hit anyway. I can take an easy come, easy go attitude to that.
Im much more concerned about Sanders - we identified him as a talent so good it was worth paying a lot for, and taking on the (high) risk of him going to tassie.
Im not giving up on the kid but he doesn't seem to have the defensive killer instinct to hunt the ball at all costs. Not saying he doesn't tackle, but he just doesn't seem to type to want to destroy the opposition when he has the chance defensively. Also noticed his man spreads quite a bit out of packs while he seems to get caught ball watching.
He's still a boy though, so give him time.
Lets all so remember not every top 10 pick becomes a superstar. Apparently he gets praise for his work effort at training which is natural and can't be taught so it might just mean with a new game plan he gets told the right act to tighten up defensively and become more aggressive around the ball.

At least we aren’t losing anyone material this year (no JUH doesn’t count he’s added zero to our team for over a year). It’s a low bar I realise but reading all the B/S about how Geelong/Brisbane whatever held all the cards and wouldn’t want to overpay for Smith/Dunkley blah blah blah was just terrible for the mental health. Particularly when it was all such utter crap. Hope we get a couple if decent role-players in and we deep dive our game plan. We have a decent core and I’m happy to wait 12 months and fire our shot at Butters.

Would be handy if we can move our pick 28 up to 19 via the Khamis trade. With maybe an F3 or something tacked on for us.

I’m still blaming the AFL. Why do the other 16 teams have to pay for Carlton losing a player
Carlton would be hugely unlikely to get pick 19 in a trade for him. Oscar Allen situation is the same, clubs are actually in the position that they’d prefer the player to leave because they get better compensation. Absolutely broken system

Our first rounder was 14 we traded it for 26, 33, 42 we also used our own pick 41 and 2 in the 50s,
All we wanted was James Rowe who has since been delisted

Given they should still contend next year their future picks aren't worth anything to land a contracted Humphrey
Just like Geelongs future picks and current picks cant land Curnow
Their future picks wont move the needle. Next years first will be in the 20s and in 2027 their first will be lucky to fall 30s.
