Let’s not get all doom and gloom yet. So far we’ve missed out on one Hail Mary target who was always next to no chance of moving clubsOur defence probably gets.... frost
True, Butts likely as wellLet’s not get all doom and gloom yet. So far we’ve missed out on one Hail Mary target who was always next to no chance of moving clubs
A) He's captain B) he's got two more years on a contract and C) he's being booted out the door.
Don't think we booted Macrae out the door, he asked to be traded from memory, Parker the same.
Maybe. Let’s just wait and see how it plays out firstTrue, Butts likely as well

The difference for me is both Parker and Macrea went through periods of success where as Steele was traded in to Saints to lead their midfield and did so through a rough period only to be shafted out for some shiny new toys.Macrae was contracted for another three years. Captaincy different for sure but all previous leaders and club greats (can include Taylor Adams from the year before) who were told that they would no longer be part of the midfield plans and that the club wouldn’t stand in their way if they wanted to go elsewhere. I don’t see a major difference, everyone just seems particularly triggered by anything St Kilda does at the moment
I do think it’s a bad list move in general. He has dropped off from the player he was in 2020 and 2021 for sure but only turns 30 in December. Don’t think it would be crazy if he has a turnaround and still has a couple of high quality years left in him. Not convinced Saints have the depth in their midfield that he wouldn’t be required if they had a couple of injuries
Who can be surprised with SOS, Allen and Ross Lyon who once assaulted a female staffer at the clubThe difference for me is both Parker and Macrea went through periods of success where as Steele was traded in to Saints to lead their midfield and did so through a rough period only to be shafted out for some shiny new toys.
Dunno if this has been posted already.......
"Travis Boak reveals he would've moved to the Western Bulldogs if he was forced by Port Adelaide to retire at the end of 2023"
Play for a year or two and then move into coaching.

Boak is still fielding offers. Is this confirmation that he will be coming on board as a coach?
Shit club with even shittier officialsIt's just a bad look really. He's gone through the rough times and they get all these new recruits in and he's quickly shoved out the door. Anyway.
Ben Ainsworth looking at the market pending cost could be a decent half forward addition
English is at best an average forwardLittle bit left field this one, but I don't rate English as a ruckman. The rule changes may help him, but 11th in our B & F (and by a fair margin) says it all to me. I'd consider bringing in Reeves and throwing English forward. That would mean one of Naughton or Croft would have to play down back.
Contracts aren't the issue,The AFL might as well scrap contracts altogether.
I did a bit of an experiment a year or 2 ago comparing English to Rory Lobb forward, but only pulling the data where English played with another recognisable ruck man - which really reduces the the number of games, but basically it was when he played in the same side as Stefan Martin and Jordan Sweet.English is at best an average forward
Reeves about to re-sign for 4 years

It’ll be interesting to see how many fewer throw-ins we get per game if the last-touch rule is introduced next year. Fewer ruck contests would definitely play to Tim’s advantage.Little bit left field this one, but I don't rate English as a ruckman. Don't think dogs have the space to bring on a ruck. Need to cover other needs first anyways.
It's not last touch, it's last disposal. Watch the aflw game, still plenty of throw ins. It’ll be interesting to see how many fewer throw-ins we get per game if the last-touch rule is introduced next year. Fewer ruck contests would definitely play to Tim’s advantage.
Smith looks fine. Add 5 kgs this pre season and he is good to go. He is very impressive for a 19 year old. What do you suggest then? It looks to me like there's nobody else out there that would help us improve. Frost isn't going to help much.
I personally think the ruck is an issue and a need.
Croft can go back without moving EnglishWhat do you suggest then? It looks to me like there's nobody else out there that would help us improve. Frost isn't going to help much.
